Todayican.com rip-off! Deceptive advertisement. Fraudulent credit use! Indianapolis Indiana

I ordered Tom Bell's todayican.com e-book. After receiving my thank you for your purchase of the Grant Directory confirmation page with order number, I was instructed to click here to view your online Federal and Government Grants Directory (link) and right below it read click here to create your user profile and enter the Grant News Network membership site. Directly below this instruction the page read: click here to cancel your free trial membership in the Grant News Network and it read: please note: to help alleviate online fraud, we are recording your IP address to prevent unscrupulous customers from stealing our product and my IP address number was printed @@.@@.@@@.@@@.

My thank you confirmation also read: You have been granted a 7 day free trial to our membership area. You may cancel your membership at any time. If you decide to keep the membership we will bill your credit card for $19.95 a month after your trial period. (terms & conditions) link offered.

I clicked on the links provided in my thank you confirmation page and (h-a-d) access to the e-book. I did not print out everything I needed that day (if one does not know to print out everything that particular day that the e-book opens up to one, you will not be able to access it later and if you could who knows that the information and/or agencies provided are current or updated information) but proceeded to access the website the following day to learn that there was no available website.

My confirmation page also read: if you need help, email us at grantservice@todayican.com. I emailed this address with no response. I searched the net with Tom Bell's name and company and found the complaint department!

In addition, my credit card has been charged $19.95 (a second time) as of the first week August, 2004. Also printed on my confirmation page it reads: remember, your credit card statement will reflect the name of our billing company: fpv. I spoke with the my bank teller and had him read what was showing on their computer screen and was told there was no name as to who had debited my credit card for $19.95.

I learned from reading through other complaints that one should e-mail (debra@todayican.com) and I did to learn that this e-mail address was not valid. So, now I learned another name and address (keith@todayican.com )I'm sure I will receive the same message.

Where is the members website? Does one have to pay $19.95 per month to become a valid accessible member (and if so, why wasn't this explained in Tom Bell's initial website when asking to order his e-book)? He (Tom Bell) leads the general public to believe that once his initial fee has been charged to your credit card that you will receive his e-book information whereby you are guaranteed to receive at least $25,000 in free government monies. However, Tom Bell's initial website page does not (repeat) --does not-- tell one that after your charge card has been billed that one will receive his thank you confirmation page stating that:

1. your credit card statement will reflect the name of his billing company (fpv)(if it does not show at your bank, will it show on your statement?;

2. you will be granted a 7 day free trial to his membership area (of which one can access one (1) time) only and that you may cancel your membership at any time. When? and that if you decide to keep the membership they will bill your credit card for $19.95 a month after your trial period. Which membership? Apparently it has not been left up to the member to decide if you want the membership - even when one cannot find it or for that matter if you want your credit card to be continually charged $19.95 per month for a website you have no access to. Where is the membership web page address? When will the company decide to distribute this website to its members?

3. Having a link on one's thank you confirmation page to "create a user profile and password in order to "enter" the "Grant News Network membership area is useless as well aftering learning that one "cannot" access the "Grant News Network membership area (a/k/a e-book).

Beware: Always check the internet before sending out your credit card information. Once a company's paypal and/or credit card company who they pay to collect on their behalf has your information - know this: they will continue to take money from your account and when you attempt to call and speak to some one, no one knows who you should speak to. Their computerized banking collection system has your credit card information and will continue to debit your account.
