Today's Escape Plus Complete Scam, not at all related to credit card company as advertised, stay away! Internet

Thought I could shed some light on this program after reading the other posts.  I did sign up for this program.  I thought I could get some discounts on gift cards I was going to purchase for the holidays.  The charge was $1.00 as expected for the trial period then $19.95 per month afterwards.  They offered $5.00 back on every $25.00 gift card purchased from participating companies, which is supposed to be processed at the end of the month.  They also give you a monthly anniversary date to cancel by in order not to have additional charges.

The scam here is that the membership fee is processed a couple of days before the anniversary date, so if you cancel close to the date you will still be charged.  They will not refund and will cancel by the end of that month, meaning you'll be charged another monthly membership and it will only be good for a few days.  Also they wait to process any refunds from the gift cards until after your anniversary date.  Initially in a phone call I made to them, they said they would process the refunds regardless of cancellation.  However, this is not true.  I was subsequently told (after cancellation) that any refunds you were supposed to receive from that month's membership are forfieted.

Finally, the introductory offer included a free $25 gift card to walmart, which has never been received.  Beware of the website, because they put you through two different savings programs first that use the same survey and same gift card leading you to believe that if you can fill out the survey online to claim your gift.  If you do, you have automatically signed up for the other value programs and they have your credit card number, so the memberhsip fee is automatically charged.

I've called the credit card company that they are using in the sales pitch and have filed a complaint.  The credit card company said that they are not aware of this offer and have not endorsed it.
