My wife ordered a product though an automated phone service without a human contact.

Two days later she canceled the order. If an additional service (except the product) was incidentally ordered, it should have been automatically cancelled with the cancellation order, especially after my wife's asking: Is everything cancelled?
The product was never shipped and the credit card was refunded.

However, two and a half months later, we noticed $19.95 charge on our credit card for two consecutive months from Ap9*todaysescapes.

We had never received any mail or information from Ap9*todaysescapes regarding our involvement with their service. We just notice the bill today.

Ap9*todaysescapes agreed to refund one month of the service (I never used it, since I had no clue I was enrolled) but refused to refund the first month.

The company states that it is my responsibility to cancel the service (How can I cancel it, if I am not aware of the service?).

For consumers to be protected, a third party company should not be allowed to charge you beyond the free trial period, without your written permission.

The deceptive practice of the TRIAL PERIOD relies on the hope that the consumer will not notice the charge on time in order to cancel the service, and the company can grab a few months payment for nothing.

A reputable company should refund all the charges, if you were not aware of their existence and never used their service. A reputable company-service should not rely on a deceitful practice.

In my view, Todaysescapes is not a reputable company.
