The website talks about all of the information, but here are some of the details.  According to the San Jose Mercury news, he scammed his investors, but according to the website he also ripped off a bunch of contractors.

His scam was to get honest, local contractors to work on his remodels and then not pay them. The people who built the website worked on many of his houses and worked on them, but when he flipped them and made big bucks they didn't get paid. Todd Hill made big bucks while the contractors got screwed, delyaing and promising that they'd get paid and then claiming that his company was bankrupt.

According to the website, "We were forced to settle for pennie son the dollar because we couldn't pay thousands more to hire lawyers. I know of many more contractors in the same situation!"

Many of the different people posting on the website had the same problem, with many of the companies giving up on ever seeing their money at all.

But more than that, despite all the pain and problems that he's caused, Todd Hill  has gone on to start a company called Flipping Big where he purports to teach other "flippers" how to do what he does.  Like what the website says, "next year we could have a squad of mini-Todd Hills roaming the area looking for victims."
