Warning: stay away from Toll Brothers Dulles Greene Apartments, "Northern Virginia's Largest Luxury Apartments." They are frauds and do not care about their residents once you sign the lease. Anyone that is considering a move to Herndon, Virginia should not look at Dulles Greene.

When we moved in, our heat did not work for 6 months, our air conditioner ran constantly for 3 months and would not shut off after dozens of maintenance visits, the smoke alarm goes off every time we open the oven, the building fire alarm went off one morning and when we called the Dulles Greene office to get an explanation they were not even aware of the alarms going off, they gave us empty promises about re-signing our lease, they towed cars at 7:30 in the morning to do re-paving without even sending out a notice or warning, and our apartment itself has gigantic cracks in the walls that they will not fix.

We have dealt with inconveniences, safety hazards, high electricity bills (for the air conditioner running constantly), towing expenses (for having our cars towed off the property where we live on!), and have basically been given the runaround each time. They claim to be a luxury gated community, but they do not treat their residents good customer service, nor do they give the residents respect and the time of day. All they care about is bringing in new residents and once you are in, they do nothing to keep you happy.

My advice is to just stay away! There are many more apartment complexes in northern Virginia that you can be happy with their level of service. DULLES GREENE SUCKS!!!

I agree they are over priced

AUTHOR: Neil - (U.S.A.)

I totally agree. While the apartments themselves are nice, they are over priced. If you rent here you will quickly find that the parking situation is totally rediculous. If you get home after 8pm, be prepared to walk about 1/4 mile to your apartment because the only parking available will be in the back near the guest parking. This is supposed to be a gated community, but the gate is left open %90 of the time, defeating the purpose.

The club house is supposed to have a business center with several pc's hooked to the internet, but they never work. While I was there they were out for about 6 months because somebody loaded a virus. My biggest complaint is with the supposed resident/customer service people, they are SO bad and give you so much attitude that I actually thought someone was playing a joke on me, I walked out shaking my head and laughing to myself I couldn't believe it. If you sign the lease, believe me, they WILL get every penny, the escape clause is a trap. I got a job in another state and I had 3 mnths left on my lease,, it was actually cheaper for me to let the lease run out than to pay the early termination penalties. I asked customer service that if they got a customer that was interested in my apartment, I would appreciate it if they would let me sublet to them for the last 2 months, I got a rude call from the resident rep telling me that they have other apartments to rent and can't be bothered trying to help me and reminded me that I was responsible for the entire amount blah blah. Sounds like they get a lot of complaints huh?

Well, I'm a consultant by trade, and do a lot of work in the DC area, and I belong to several organizations and know several other consultants that do business with the government and I have told every one of them and posted messages with every organization about Dulles Greene. I know for a fact that, to date, they have lost 5 tenants because of my recomendations, one of which was all set to sign till he called me from the parking lot and never went back inside. These people will also never buy a Toll Brothers home either.

If you are listening Toll Brothers and Dulles Greene, because of your business practices you have lost at least 5 times what you made on me, and counting.

You do have rights.

As a renter or leaser you do have rights.
There 15 basic rights that you have and these are listed at
http://houseandhome.msn.com/Rentals
/YourRightsasaRenter0.aspx

If you feel that safety is an issue please contact your state's Attorny General. To find your Attorney General go to http://directory.tenantsunion.org/

I found this information just this morning, trying to help my Grandfather with his deadbeat landlord.

Good luck to you. Hope I was able to help.
