We purchased our daughter a car on Friday and she used her old tag to go out on Saturday night.
She was pulled over and the car had to be towed.  Bradenton Police Department called Top Gun towing to Tow and impound the vehicle.  Because of finances we were unable to pay for the tow and had to wait a week to pick it up.

I called Top Gun Towing on Tuesday and asked them what the total would be.  They told me it would be $250.00 and $25 per day after for storage. So I added that up in my head and figured if we picked it up on Saturday the total would be $350.00.

On Saturday I called to make sure they were there. I asked them the total and the price was not at $580.00.... I was in shock!... So I'm no math wizard, but that is a $250.00 difference.  That's when things get crazy!!!.... I am trying to explain this to the girl on the phone and she puts the owner of the business on - James "I hate Obama and everyone else" Stewart.  He proceeds to start yelling at me over the phone and tells me if I want my car I have to pay that - He was a mean nasty person on the phone - and then he hung up on me.   I am a business owner myself, and have never treated a customer like that before.

My wife and I then went down to his place of business.  He was there and the girl that I originally spoke to on the phone.  I again ask them why it went from $350 to $580.  He told us that that is what it said in the computer and the car had been here since Saturday (1 week of storage).  He then yells at the girl behind the counter to print us out a receipt.  She gets flustered and looks on her computer and tells him that she made a mistake and the total was now $388.00 - which still didn't add up the to $350!..

Wow.... that's a big difference Mr. Stewart.... I wonder if Bradenton PD knows that you are charging so much extra for towing.

He then looks at us and says " We are regulated by the county and you have about 5 minutes before I throw you out."  Now this sounds to me like someone who has been busted for overcharging customers who have no choice but to pay whatever he says because he has your car.

I wonder if he would have found that mistake if I hadn't asked and just forked over the $580.00.. Would I have gotten a "refund"....Yea I doubt it....

So I just wanted to warn everyone (including Bradenton PD) to stay away from this guy and TOP GUN TOWING.  He is the worst of the worst.  Do not use Top Gun Towing - unless you want to be overcharged or threatened.
