Bait and switch, mislead about the hidden costs to make the products work. I attended the seminar, and signed up for a one year contract. I was not made aware that I would need to continue to pay for hidden fees, one time set up charges, and monthly billings for additional products to make the system work. After having to add things to make the product, top producer 8i function, I learned that it was only a shiny, more colorful "outlook express" type of system. I also was paying for about 10 coaching calls.
I was lead to believe that this product could do more. For example, I had to pay extra to link the system to the RMLS to create the flyers they had for templates. The results were subpar, and I felt like I was tricked to spend $195 or more to learn that the product was inferior. I cancelled, but by the time I could get it to work, after numerous calls to the customer service hotline and hours of my time, they said the time had elapsed for me to have a full refund. This was a huge waste of time and money.
Then I wanted to set up a link to connect my cell phone to the top producer system to import/export data from phone to computer. After several calls with tech support, being transferred back and forth, the tech persons never were able to get it to work. Then I spent days disputing the charges and getting it removed from my system. Why did it take 2 days of calls and hours of making me feel inferior and being verbally abused by a tech person to end this monthly charge and "one time" connect charge for a product neither of us ever got working? It takes 2 to not follow through on an arrangement and the person was so rude . This one time attempt cost me valuable time and energy and stress. The tech person wouldn't allow me the dignity to explain what I did know regarding my systems, and how they worked, and what software I had or even how to check to see what products I already had in place to make the transaction smoother, instead he was ignoring me and treating me poorly. The person wouldn't understand that the system had never been connected so there was nothing to remove from my PDA. He instead put me on hold, got ahold of the other person in his tech support area, to learn what I had been trying to tell him but he wouldn't even let me explain. I was so unhappy I decided to cancel everything.
I was mislead to buy the website, with a lead capturing system. I followed through on my end, I uploaded all my data, filled out the information, added properties, and more. After months of false leads, I asked for a traffic report. This should be available in the back page, customer section of the website. I sent an email the Thursday before Memorial weekend. I never got a response so I called in to the customer service hotline, she said she never received the request. I was asked to resend the original email request, which it said on the website to submit all inquiries in writing. I had called and emailed the request and cc'd the coach through top produer. Only after the coach from the Top Producer campus got involved did I ever even get a respponse. I shouldn't have to send 3 emails, make 4 phone calls , to never even get a copy of the traffic report in writing. Ever. After 2 weeks , I was able to connect with a live person at billing@toppromoter.com.
After a few months of false leads wasting my time, I never got a single valuable actual client. They said I don't know how to follow through and that I needed to pay for extra classes and online seminars to understand how to capture my leads. How much more? A one time fee of $$$? At this time I have not received a refund or a response as to when the refund will happen.
These leads all had incomplete names, incomplete searches, bad phone numbers, false emails addresses and so forth. I saved all of them and logged how many times I called or emailed. I only actually made contact with 2 live people who where who they said they were on the auto-email. One person was interested in buying in one of 3 states and was undecided. I emailed her listings and called 3 times. She has not responded after the initial phone call. The second live person I called was holding a cell phone of a person as that other person was selling pawning an object for them, and the phone was collateral!
I saved every false lead. I also had to contact the coach, paid for by me through Top Producer, to get someone to call me back to end the website. Now, if the company top producer was linked up to top promoter, how come when you are unhappy and want to cancel, they are no longer connected? They were connected when they sold the products, but when it is a bad service, they are seperate companies.
My coaching experience with Top Producer.....My first coach was very nice and very sincere, but if I am paying thousands of dollars, I do want results. After 4 coaching calls, of which he missed 2 in a 6 week period, all that we discussed was how to write a letter with a personal touch vs a proffesional touch. He repeated everything over and over and over and I am a person who, most of the time can grasp things the first time, and if I am sent a written copy of the topic, I can read it and grasp the topic. This was a subject I understood before we talked about it, and to waste 6 weeks on this did not improve my business at all.
The coach also worked online and said "if the internet crashes and I don't call you, you have to call me because I won't have your number handy, and this happens a lot".
So how can a system that is supposed to be top of the line ...
1. Only accept FAXES, not a scanned document. When I was trying to send in my contact info packet, it took weeks for the company to get the info because their fax machine was always busy, broken, or not receiving after hours.
2. Where is the back up system for calling clients? I am supposed to be available for my calls 15 minutes before the hour and so forth. Or else I am allowed to miss one call and the rest come off of my alloted 10 sessions.
3. My new coach has called 2 hours early, didn't realise I am on the Pacific coast. Then I couldn't hardly hear him at all, it was a terrible connection. He did nothing to fix this. Then today, he calls 11 minutes late, sends me an email with the documents to discuss, he reads it to me which I can do myself, then rings off after 15 minutes. That was not a half hour session. The connection was marginally better this time, but I was not made to think or respond to anything hardly.
I was very disapointed, the only thing I liked was that he helped me get ahold of a real person at Top Promoter to file a complaint and try to get my money back.
I still have not heard back, after I cancelled the website, which happened over memorial week in May. The website is down, but I was still being charged on my credit cards.
I tried to cancel the top producer package. They refused and said that since I signed a contract, I am stuck for the whole year, and for the entire charges of thousands. I explained all of the above, and only solution given was to extend my coaching system package, and give me a new coach who moved on a faster pace. This is not canceling, this is stringing me along.
I had to get my spouse involved because I am so frustrated. He pulled all the credit card bills and discovered that we were double charged several times, and continue to be charged for things we cancelled. He called the customer service hotline and billing hotline and was treated rudely, put on hold, and had zero results.
He called the bank to dispute charges and was able to start a claim with the bank. He dicovered aprox. $1000 in charges on one card alone. I want out of the entire system, I do not want to pay anything more, and I want a refund.
