Top Travel USA / Compass Travel Deceiving Practices – Total Fraud Ft. Lauderdale Florida

Top Travel USA is located at Beach Place on the third floor, room 300, on A1A in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. 

Pretty much the same thing happened to me and even worse.  I got the “free” cruise voucher for attending the presentation and also pay $99 to register our certificate within 60 days.  When I received it and tried to book a cruise, the out of pocket cost was so outrage that it was cheaper to just book a cruised from the actual cruise line website. Obviously, we loss the $99 too.  The other thing they gave us was an airfare companion ticket.  Again, we send in $25 to get it register and they would provide another company contact to make a reservation were you pay one and the other one is free.  Once again, we loss the $25 because the company never gave us anything after numerous attempts to get the money back.

Finally, Top Travel USA, also known as Compass Travel, failed to deliver the level of discounts as seen on their presentation and refused to cancel our membership.  First of all, we were bought by the presentation that cost us $3,500.  We gave $500 down and they finance the rest at $50 a month.  However, they told us that we were not going to have access to the system until 50% of the membership was paid.  Obviously, we did not had an opportunity to see the actual savings or the different travel offers on their website until way pass the allowed 30 days to cancel policy.  When we finally got access to the system, found out that the resorts that they were offering for the great $199 a week, were nothing more than a glorified motel. Nothing at that price range compared to what they show us in the presentation.

Next, we tried to book some airfare through them, again no difference in price.  Finally, we booked a cruise for the whole family and our total savings for the 4 of us was less than $100, even less than 10% of the total cost. In conclusion, their website or their travel representatives were not able to secure the level of discount offered in the presentation.

We finally tried to cancel the membership and after numerous attempts and they giving us the run around, they said that I was obligated under the contract to pay.
