Toshiba, Office Max refused to honor rebate Nationwide

We purchased a Toshiba laptop from Office Max with promise of a $50 rebate. We read through all the instructions carefully and sent in all required paperwork including the sku numbers etc from the box it came in. Toshiba responded with a denial because "your receipt did not have a purchase date on it"

Well the receipt did have a purchase date on it but we should have sent a copy instead of the original - now we have no proof and we have no proof of the box numbers either - they have all the info and did not return any of it of course. What a rip-off and shame on Office Max for promoting offers that are not honored by the companies. I will never purchase a Toshiba product again and will never believe a rebate offer again either. Bad Bad Business - altho some pathetic CEO likely got a big bonus for his 'rip off the public' idea...  someday this corporate mafia world will be a thing of the past... condemned to a shameful spot in the dustbins of history - just hope there are still some humans around in that future time to enjoy a CEO/billionaire-free world.
