When you try to store the total gym model 14000 it can collapse on you falling on your head. This happened to me on December 7, 2005 putting a gash in my head requiring stitches to close it at the hospital. The emergency room bill was $3500. The total gym unit was $1650. Initially contacting EFI A Ms. Shelley sent a letter that the company was amenable to my situation. This means that they will do the right thing by you.
Since this incident I do not use this total gym and want to be reimbursed for all monies. All they have offered to me is a refund of the unit and they claim there is NO design flaw with the protruding half circle which extends forward at the top of the unit. If a child tried to store this unit it could very well kill them as the support bar comes down with tremendous force like an assailant trying to strike the back of your head with a metal pipe. There is no restraint to keep the bar safely in place while folding it. The incident knocked me unconscious only to find myself with my scalp full of blood. This is not a safe piece of exercise equipment.
EFI will not acknowledge that this is a serious design flaw. I do not know if an attorney would see product liabilty here but it does exist. Buy anything else but total gym. Don't let Wesley Snipes Snipe you.
