Total Merchant Services Extra fees and cancellation fee but they advertise no contracts, so why the cancellation fee? Woodland Hills California

Told when I signed up that I could cancel any time 

Extra charges that I was not told about when joined

When I agreed to join this service, I was assured that I could cancel at any time.  I was not told there would be an early cancellation fee.  I cancelled after 11 months.  Even at that time, I was not told that there would be a cancellation fee.  And there was an extra fee in December that I was not told would occur.  They said it was in the contract and that they sent me an email. 

Their customer service is poor and I think this is an extremely bad way to conduct business.  It's just another sneaky way to get in hidden charges.  I know I will not get out of paying the charges, I just want others to know how this company operates and to beware!

When I googled Total Merchant Services this is what they say about their business:

"Credit card processing for small businesses. No Contracts. Low Rates. No Hidden Fees. Free Equipment."

Why am I being charged a cancellation fee when there is no contract!  And why am I being charged an extra $100 maintenance fee, for past services.  What was my regular monthly payment fee for?  In my opinion this company is poorly run and they lie.  Beware.  They do no tell you the whole story.
