We found several stock numbers and vin numbers for about 15 Toyota Siennas that this dealership was advertising. We called up the dealership, where told these cars are all available at the advertised price (Which was $24,869-$25018) and that we should take the hour and a half drive.
So we printed out the ads with the VIN # and STOCK # and did the drive out there. When we got there, we located the vehicle that we liked off our list. The advertised price for the car was $25,018 and when they started running payment #'s, They told us that the car was $30,000+. We showed them the print out, even printed it out on THEIR computer, they all dissapeared for 40 minutes. When they came back, they gave us payment #'s for $25,018 that where higher than the original numbers they came back with for the $30,000 originally!
Basically, they where trying to lease us a $25,018 vehicle for $0 down and $535 a month + tax for 36 months ($579.13 monthly payment) with a "lease end buy out option" of $14937. So by just paying the lease over 36 months, we will have payed them $20,848.68 (This amount didnt even include lisence or registration). Basically after leasing this car, we where $5000 short of the original sales price and we would STILL owe them $14937 on a 3 YEAR OLD USED CAR if we wanted to buy the vehicle at the end of the lease. When I showed them the calculated fact that the lease should not be over $383.96 a month with their calculated lease money factor against the $25,018 purchase price, they told me that it is being calculated at $30,000+.
Basically, they wouldnt honor the advertised price. That is just their way of getting people into the dealership and showing them cars that are more expensive with options they never really needed or wanted. They just wherent prepared for someone to come in with an actual stock or vin #. So we turned around and left
