This car dealership uses false advertising to get customers to come in and then they disappoint them when they get there! For example, they ran a TV ad that said:
"O" down, $189.00 a month, and "your job is your credit" - everyone qualifies on pre-owned Toyotas"
But just try gettting one - a person with no credit history, even though they have a great job and makes a really decent income couldn't get a car because they were considered a "ghost" with no credit history. They didn't even try to verify the job or bank!

Then they tried to say that the "0" down really meant having another vehicle to trade in that was worth "at least" $3,000.00! Come On! When are these a-holes going to stop trying to "trick" people into buying a car on their terms if they can't be honest in their ads? As per usual, the Toyota of Lewisville is a car dealer with deceptive ads.

If this is how they operate, can you image what they will do with their customers after the car is bought?

That's The Truth

AUTHOR: Cory - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, October 14, 2006

Filed a complaint with the AG of Texas over this issue. Most of the local car dealer have similar ads. There is always fine print that goes with it at the bottom of the ad. They read PLUS tax, title and license and many have a security deposit due at signing which may go as high as 12 months of the monthly payment. In the case of the $189 payment, the security deposit could be $2200 plus a tax of $900 plus fees of another $300. Alltold, your upfront could be as high as $3400. Now, most people who are looking for a $189 car payment can't come up with a $3400 down payment, so they put the $3400 onto the "$189" car payment, which is really a lease in most cases, and ends up being $275 or $300 or more, a month. With all the chinese accounting at signing, the poor suckers have no idea what they're paying for a vehicle. Just another rip-off car dealer scam.
