At the end of August my Mother was down to one unit on her pre-paid Trac Fone so we went to the store and purchased another 100 unit card. On returning home and getting ready to add the air time I noticed that she now had 49 minutes. I added the 100 units and went to 149 units. She used 6 units overnight and in the morning only had 20 units.

On September 1, 2004 we purchased a 200 unit card online giving her 220 units. She used 9 units. We then did not use the phone for the holiday weekend. On Monday night the 6th she tried to use the phone and had 0 units. I placed my fourth call to Trac Fone and was told that I had to send the phone back to trac fone (at my expense) and they would investigate the phone and then send it back at which point I could call again and they would re-add all the time that was lost.

I aske if we could put some of the time on my Trac Fone that was past the due date but was told the only way to do that was to purchase another air time card reactivate the phone and then call back and some "inconvenience" time would be added. I too was refused a call back from a supervisor and was told that they were not able to call out of Trac Fone.

airtime is loss preventable

AUTHOR: Justin - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, September 27, 2004

I like tracfone I have used thier service for years. I have never had a problem except for thr the Nokia phone I have is sometimes getting its buttons pushed by all the other stuff in my pockets causeing it to accidently dial-out and use up airtime on the phone this happens when the key gaurd lock is not being used. As for the phone always changing the way you said it does makes me think that somebody has messed with the programming in the phone itself (scary if true). I don't know if it is possible to fix the problem if that is the case. However tracfone should at least try to help you. I recomend that if tracfone service is not local to your area, you need to locate and switch to a prepaid phone company that has local service in your area.
