TransForce Trucking advertizes itself as the number one staffing option for drivers looking for a stable career, without being tied down to one job.  Instead they are a good way to be lied to, paid far less than advertized, and treated as though you are brainless.

I signed on with TransForce 1 month ago.  They assigned me to the account I asked for.  The account, as advertized, paid 1200-1500 per week.  It was also supposed to be home weekends, with between 1 and 3 nights home during the week.  It was supposed to be 2 assigned customers, one on each end of a dedicated loop.  What a joke that turned out to be.

First, they had me ride along with another employee to go get my truck.  Second, they had me run 2 loads before I even went to orientation for the customer!  After 2 tries to get through orientation (the customer kept having "emergency" loads that they needed me to run before I could finish) they did not get me immediately to my assignment.

After working for this customer for 3 weeks, I finally got TransForce to admit what my pay scale was.  38.5cpm which for 3 trips per week, comes to less than $850/week before expenses or taxes.  I have yet to be home during the week, except when they could not find me a load.  It is not dedicated, and the customer even told me I "had to run NYC, because I am a Northeast Regional driver."

If I had been told any of the information: below industry standard pay for a 12+year driver, NYC, or nearly all Broker freight, I WOULD NOT have taken the job at all.

I was told that I could change accounts whenever I wanted, and that there were numerous home-nightly jobs in Pittsburgh.  I have been trying to get off this account since week 2, and my dispatcher Will Not transfer me.  He keeps saying he cannot find me a customer in Pittsburgh, but there are 3 posted on Monster.com AND transforce.com.

I have a feeling I will be fired for posting this.

Update on situation

AUTHOR: soulless - ()

POSTED: Monday, April 29, 2013

I am the original poster, and feel the need to include new information. Having had a sit-down meeting with TransForce representatives, things have changed. It seems that the customer was playing the office against the drivers. I am now off the account, and there have been some less than pleasant phone conferences between myself, TransForce, and the customer. I am working with one of their other accounts, and TransForce has agreed to provide me with written pay and home-time information BEFORE I accept any further assignments.
