I'm finding that TransUnion's credit scoring models that calculate individual's credit scores are adversely flawed.
My credit is perfect, my bills paid on time. And my debt to income ratio is under 20%.
Yet, no matter what I do my credit score keeps dropping.
From the mid 700's to the mid 600's.
I have reduced my available credit (i.e. credit limits on CC cards) I have closed credit card accounts.
Yet, they (TransUnion) continue to lower my credit scores.
I think they are in the business to create adverse information on a creditor so that the credit providers they sell information too can charge you higher interest rates.
I feel that a class action suit is probably in order. So that these issues can be addressed and corrected. I feel the calculations they used are severely flawed.
And they (TransUnion) should be held accountable!
Thank you.. Other people must be going through this also.

Transunion was sued back in september 2008

There was a class action law suite against transunion last year 2008 it is closed to the public as of now and the settlement has been made. It was for selling information to creditors as you stated. I was paying transunion $14.95 a month to keep track of my credit and credit reports while I was cleaning up my credit. After 6 months with them they all of a sudden without notification change the agreement to me only being able to update my report and score once a month which I signed up for being able to update it when ever I wanted to. Than when I applied for a mortgage to buy a new home I found out that they are reporting my score 150 points below what I am being shown which prevented me from getting that loan. I feel this is unethical practice. It is stated in that law suite that consumers can file a separate single law suite against them for damages. Which I plan on doing once this investigation is completed. I suggest you write then explaining to them what you wrote in here and ask for sufficient evidence that supports the reason for them lowing your score. They have 30 days to reply or 45 depending on the State your in. If they don't reply within that time, I would than file a law suite against them as I will do if they don't reply with sufficient evidence as to why my score is so much lower than what they are reporting to me. I know that some companies have different ways on how they obtain their FICO scores which as I read that Transunion and Experian have their own way of how they come up with the score but it is told not by that much. To me the money I gave them was for nothing because they are not reporting accurate information how am I suppose to know where my credit stands until I am completing embarrassed when I apply for credit. This has to stop and if we can get enough people to take on another class action law suite I think once and for all they might just straighten up not to mention that the other reporting companies will hopefully straighten their act up to.
