Tread Quarters Auto Center 1046 Messed up more than they fixed NEWPORT NEWS Virginia

I am not giving them any stars because the service I received does not warrant a star.  I took in my truck to have the water pump replaced and a new thermostat put in because it was leaking at the weep hole and we had a loud chirping sound and we did not have the time or help to replace it at the time ourselves.  The only thing leaking on this truck was that water pump when we took it in.  They called to say that the upper radiator hose needed to be replaced and that the tensioner was crooked and a new serpentine belt was needed too.  So they replaced the tensioner and a new belt (keep in mind that that tensioner and belt were only one day old when we took it in to them!!) I pick up my truck ($826.99 later) and the noise I had also mentioned to them was still there (the loud chirping) and while looking at the new parts my husband was extremely upset that they had gotten and left antifreeze all over everything under the hood of the truck (it was puddled in the battery tray) and they had not bothered to wipe it off and we all know what that does to metal parts!!

We found that they had neglected to reinstall the two bolts that hold the fan shroud in place so I went back and they were still on the technicians cart..not happy with that mistake.  We found a day later that the truck is still leaking antifreeze so we went back up and their head tech inspects it and then informs us that the timing chain cover gasket is leaking and needs to be replaced oh and now the lower radiator hose is also leaking (keep in mind that that bottom hose was not leaking when we took it in) Upon further inspection we find they have left off one of the nuts that holds an AC line in place so another trip back to replace that. This time the manager comes out and upon looking at the vehicle we tell him all we have gone through and he is really zero help. They still insist its a leak in the TCC gasket and they did admit that they should not have left off those little parts and when I showed him the missing bolt from out of the AC compressor it was more of the run around!

We replaced that lower radiator hose ourselves and found that now there is no leak ANYWHERE...so their theory about the timing chain cover gasket leaking is not true and so far no leaks and no need to add more antifreeze either. I think  after inspecting that hose, that they either slipped with a tool or something causing a small hole in the top of that hose which caused it to leak because their tech told us that when he started there were no leaks and that he had done everything from the top and nothing from the bottom!  Its my opinion that this shop caused more damage than they fixed because that hose was not initially leaking and even the tech said that, and they got radiator fluid everywhere, they left off parts and thought it was no big deal, and they told me a part was leaking that really was not.  Be careful because I was also told by Justin the manager that they do not check for anything else other than that specific part you want replaced  or your specific complaint (remember they called me to say the tensioner and belt were needing replaced now-but no mention of any other hoses or that timing chain cover gasket).

They are not allowed according to their employee manuals to do like all the other shops and try to tell you what other things they see wrong because they are a hassle free shop!  I am sorry but if you see something else wrong I want to be told about it.  Anyway, please stay away from this place because they are not very honest and they tend to leave off parts that belong on your vehicles, but they are probably sitting right on the techs rolling cart.  This entire company has lost my family as customers.  They should refund my money for all the aggrevation I went through.  I dealt with Shawn, Charles, and Justin, the tech whom I do not know his name and their master tech who drove my truck out of the shop so rough that I thought someone slammed a hunk of metal down on the concrete floor no doubt knocking out the alignment which by the way they will not have the chance to realign either!! So after being charged $826.99 I am very very upset with them and again they will never get any of my business again....they should send me a full refund for all of the aggrevation. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLES TO THIS SHOP.....LADIES THEY WILL ALSO TALK DOWN TO YOU LIKE YOU DO NOT KNOW A THING ABOUT YOUR OWN CAR/TRUCK!!!  

By the way, that loud chirp is a part that can be replaced and can damage your car/truck.  We will replace this ourselves when it arrives and the squeak should go away.  They say is a phazer or a fake part basically that FORD put in since there is no distributor cap, but many different vehicles have that same chirp and all of that was according to several of the people who work there told to both myself and my husband on two seperate visits!
