Tread Quarters, Inspection, front brakes, rotors, 3mm-2mm is passing $683.00 :O( to Toyota, 6mm looks great!!!! Grafton, Virginia

With inspection coming due, I took my Toyota truck to Tread Quarters, Grafton, Va. A few hours later, I received a call from the manager all was OK BUT my breaks were at 3mm with passing at 2mm. Next, I was asked if since the truck was already there, if I would like to take care of the brakes. My reply was "how much"? Reply--Welllll--I should have felt the hook setting- $683.00. For the front breaks? Wellll-you will also need rotors because we cant turn them. Rotors--$180.00 each plus the break job. I was told that they didn't have the specs and my rotors would destroy their machine!! With a tear in my eye I called Toyota dealership, Pearson Toyota. $250.00 and "99.999% of the time we turn the rotors, unless your into the rivets". Dropped it off that Saturday and within 2 hours they contacted me stating that I did NOT need brakes and they were at 6mm with new brakes at 9mm. (Yea Pearson)The money coming in a close second, the most difficult thing about this event is that apparently I must look like a SCHMUCK!!!!!!I am enjoying passing the word:O)
