I did a significant amount of online and in-store research looking for a quality treadmill for weightloss ... I decided on the SOLE F80 ... by all accounts a high quality for the cost unit.  I also decided to look for the best available price, knowing that if I could avoid state sales tax by buying online I would save some money.

I read many many online reviews of both the treadmill and suppliers and discovered that Treadmills Central (treadmillscentral.com) also doing business as Elite Fitness Equipment and HomeGymCentral got very high marks for customer service.  Exactly what I was looking for!!

Perusing their website over several days I was amused to see that their "24 hour sale" banner on the site was clearly there for way more than 24 hours and I saw that they were offering a 5% discount on several SOLE models ... they were ALSO offering $110 off of some models ... cool even better!

I placed an online order, used the SOLE110 discount code at online checkout and was glad to see the $110 discount applied to the total cost so I proceeded with the checkout giving my credit card number.

I received an email showing my order number, the model specifications, and the total cost (with the $110 discount applied) AND instructions that I would receive a 2nd email that required signature and faxing back.

The 2nd email arrived with an attached PDF "Sales Order" and on that sales order the total price include only a 5% discount amounting to $74.95  a difference of $35.05 MORE to be charged to me than the online price I was shown at checkout.

I called asked why the difference and was rudely advised I was "slipping in an unauthorized code" ... WRONG ... nowhere on the site did it tell me I could NOT used the SOLE110 code for this treadmill, I assumed this was a part of the "24 hour sale" brazenly advertised on the web site over the several days I checked ... I don't consider it "good customer service" to accuse a paying customer of ANYTHING derogatory EVER but when I'm allowed by THEIR OWN ordering mechanism to apply for and receive a discount I consider that final ... apparently not! ... I cancelled the order with this company and strongly suggest others considering their use to be aware that what you see may very well NOT be what you get ... I'll still by the treadmill but not form these folks!

Treadmills.Com/HomeGymCentral.com HONORS ALL COUPONS As Clearly Advertised

AUTHOR: HomeGymCentral - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 16, 2010

We clearly state in products titles if they are eligible for the $110 coupon or if they qualify for the 5% coupon. We also note which items qualify for appropriate products in the body of text within the product page.

The customer put the $110 coupon on a product when it clearly states it is eligible for the 5% coupon. In the customer's complaint on this website, the customer states that they were aware that this coupon was not meant for the unit but tested it out anyway.

The customer cancelled the order because we were refused to honor the incorrect price which it was NOT advertised at. While we will admit that the customer was resourceful and somehow managed to find an exploit that had never occurred before or after, we are not obligated to honor their attempt at exploiting that glitch within our system just because they wanted a better deal than what they were being offered.

We were willing to sell the unit to the customer for the advertised 5% discount just like every one of our customers are entitled to. Had the customer wanted the $110 off, then we would certainly honor the $110 coupon for those items advertised as being eligible for that particular coupon. Again the customer canceled the order and was never charged, therefore, there is no legitimate "Rip Off" to report. No one was scammed or mislead. All one needs to do is read the title of any of the Sole products on our websites and they will clearly see what coupon the unit in question qualifies for.

We encourage any customer to place an order using the correct coupon corresponding to the verbiage in the product title as their guide and we will gladly honor it as we have honored sales for the past 11 years maintaining an "A" rating with the Better Business Bureau.
