On January the 30th, I began my journey in a company known as Trebor of which all my hopes and dreams of a promising, successful job were seemingly fufilled. The first few days were exciting; I was told of all the opportunities of which the company, as well as myself, could benefit from. The job of which I was to preform was to basically sell people Kirby vacuums. Sounds easy, right? Well, all was not what it seemed to be....

After a week of basic training (learning to operate the vacuum, etc.) we were sent "out in the fields". I couldn't believe my eyes as to what we were embarking on. We were travelling 45 minutes away to go DOOR-TO-DOOR and try to sell vacuums (after being previously told that we'd have "set clients"). My initial thought was "Isn't this soliciting? Isn't that ILLEGAL?" Not too soon after, we began being followed by the police. In the event of getting pulled over, I was told to basically lie and state that we were taking surveys, and were in no way selling anything. So, basically, in addition of being lied to about what we were going to do for the job, I had to in return lie to athorities about what we were doing as a whole. Real promising job, right?

So, in the bitter cold of a town I was hardly aware of, we knocked AT LEAST 75 doors, most of which were slammed in our face. We didn't stop knocking doors until about 9:30 at night (who wants people knocking on their doors at 9 at night??) and didn't return to the main office until about in hour later. So, after basically a 14-hour work day, I was only able to do 2 demos, and according to the "contract", you have to have a minimum of 12 TO EVEN GET PAID! So, if I didn't have that at the end of the week, no paycheck. Thats 14 hours a day of my time wasted. That's roughly 84 hours in a 6-day workweek. Sounds like fun.

Needless to say, my time with the company was short-lived. Who wants to join a company in which they're basically lied to and bribed into, and then denied pay for 14 hours of work. If you're ever sucked into this, get out before YOUR personal time is wasted. And, if you ever hear a knock on your door from people wanting you to buy a Kirby (and NOT because they want to give away "free car-vacs"), don't answer, because it WILL be a waste of your time, considering how atrocious the company treats their employees. They sucked me into it, and now I'm dishing the dirt right back out.

A shady kind of truth

I saw an ad in the local newspaper a few years back for Trebor, Inc. Desperately needing a job, I called the number, and the woman on the phone gave me an address and a time. I asked what the ad was for, and she refused to tell me.

So I got dressed up, spent ten dollars on gas, and went to the address given to me. I arrived twenty minutes early, and was given a packet to fill out. I asked the receptionist was this was for, and again, I was told that it will be explained to me. Moments later, a fat man with coffee stained teeth came out, and I asked him. His reply was insanely rude.

When it was finally my turn for an interview, I noticed various plaques on the wall, mostly for "Highest sales in Kirby vacuum cleaners." My mother fell victim to this kind of scam; Rainbow basically forced her to buy a $3,000 vacuum because she didn't make enough sales.

The fat man told me that I had the potential to have millions of dollars, get week-long trips to exotic locations, gold watches, etc. I didn't show up for the orientation the next day.

This "Rzaswife" person is an employee, and must be making enough money and doing something "right" to be kissing the behinds of these criminals. It was never about who does the hardest work. It is about becoming aligned with a business that works like a cult. It is about becoming a sycophant, and cementing the dominance of a corrupt corporate theatre. You are being played for all of your money, worth nothing more than a pawn. All the world is a stage.

It's all true - and more!

Im also an ex-employee of Trebor. Trebor distribution was my first sales job. I have to agree with the complainer. This company sells employees the dream of wealth through door to door sales.

Yes, Trebor informs you to lie when questioned by the authorities.

NO, you dont receive compensation if you do 12 demos (in a week); here is the gimmick: If you complete 12 demonstrations without selling a single unit. You will be told that the law of averages is 12 demonstrations per sale. Therefore, you didnt market your product effectively. The original complaint never mentioned this because he/she never completed 12 demos. I have, and I never received a pay check.

Youre brainwashed into believing Robert Terwilliger (owner) is a higher being. He will show you the way. The fact of the matter is this guy makes about 210k 225k a year (Gross!). He is not worth millions Do the math; Trebor is not selling Kirbys hand over fist. On an average day, Trebor (in whole) will sell between 2 to 6 Kirbys. After commissions, taxes and all the overhead is taken care of, Robert is making less than 100k a year. He is a fake

Youre not told what the job entails until your 3rd day! This way Trebor can pump you full lies and fantasies. AND once again make you think that someday youll be richjust like Robert! lol!

This place is a cult, every morning you practice sales pitches and shout chants. All the while Robert strides around preaching like a pastor at a southern black Baptist church.

Its sickening. A co-worker of mine, who started around the same time as me; had a wife and 4 kids to take of, I will never forget the panicked look on his face, finding out he didnt get a pay check after working 14 hours a day for the past 2 weeks.

Stay away from this place; you will be sucked dry.

Everything in this report is not true.We do have appoinments that we go to.And yes you do have to get 12 demos to make a pay check but its called working hard. You wont get doors slammed in your face if you do it right.Ever heard of hard work?Well thats life.Yes it is hard work but it pays off.We also have alot of fun while doing it.When you get an appointment and go in there you explain about the kirby and show how it works. The Kirby Home Care System is a great investment. It helps people with thouroughly cleaning their homes.gets Mold,Dirt,Dust Mites,Hair,Etc...You Get The Picture.

Did You Know That You Sleep In Dirt,Dust Mites,Dead Skin?Did you also know that a dust mite lives up to 2-4 mos.?In that time they produce up to 200 times its body weight in waste? And you know how in the morning you wake up in the morning && your mouth is dry and tastes funny?Well Dust mites Use your mouth as their personnal bathroom...The Same thing with those little crustys in your eyes.Well the kirby gets all that out with proper cleaning. As far as im concerned everyone should have one.let Trebor do a demo for you and I bet you want one too.Kirby is not a joke it is a savior to everyone.Wouldnt you want your house clean as you can get it so your not living in invisible filth? The Trebor company is not a scheme they are a company willing to give people everything they want with a career thats not a dead end job.

My Boss has everything he wants and needs. He Has millions.Because he invested in a great product. The Kirby is not a vaccuum cleaner it is a home care system.By Purchasing the Kirby you dont spend money you save money. My Boss gives everyone the chance to be where he's at.Its not some lower class business scheming to get money.Us employees are in a high class office which is a good evironment.it gets us use to livin good.

What job do you know that you dont need no experience to start and you make $400 and more a week?how hard is it really to get 12 demonstrations? You work Monday-Saturday,That gives you 6 days to get 12 demos.Thats 2 a day.You go and set up the kirby and show people how well it will benefit them and their families. If they buy it great. If not fine. But not once have i ever heard some one say they didnt like the kirby.at that dont believe what you hear. This Is A Great company. Some people cant do it thats why they fail and down on it.
