Tres Jolie - Glenda Lugay Designers Beware! Tres Jolie owner is a nightmare Beverly Hills, California

I was trolling the internet and happened to see another complaint about Tres Jolie.  Although my experience with this store was several years ago, it left such a bad taste in my mouth that I'm compelled to file this report.

I was living in Florida and provided a large amount my one-of-a-kind jewelry designs to Tres Jolie.  I was very excited at this new outlet for me, based in Beverly Hills, and apparently frequented by celebrity stylists, etc.

As it happened, several weeks after I shipped my designs to her I ended up getting a job overseas.  I was leaving the US in about eight weeks and apologized to Glenda Lugay for the hassle, but I needed my jewelry returned to me before I left the country.

Then began a really upsetting and distasteful series of interchanges with her!  I called, I wrote, I sent emails, and I was very lucky ever to be able to connect with her.  She kept on telling me how busy she was and how she was unable to get around to returning thousands of dollars of merchandise to me.  I started off being very polite and accommodating because I felt badly about having to ask her to return my things to me under a deadline.

Then it got nasty.  When I was finally able to talk to her, Ms. Lugay would scream at me on the phone, verbally abuse me, and I was unable to get a word in.  Once I tried to yell back at her, saying "JUST LISTEN TO ME!" but I couldn't stop the flow of her ranting.  I really felt that I was dealing with someone who was mentally unbalanced. 

Finally, I got my boyfriend at the time -- a lawyer -- to write to her to threaten legal action.  Only then, the day before I was to get on a plane to leave the country, did my pieces arrive back to me -- missing several of my "star" pieces.  I decided just to drop it and feel fortunate that I was able to retrieve anything at all.

There are so many professional retailers with a lot of integrity who truly support up-and-coming jewelry designers -- Glenda Lugay is not one of them -- and I encourage any jewelry designer to avoid this store to avoid getting burned.
