Trevor M. Robinson Grossly Misrepresented Lansing Michigan

I made the mistake of hiring Trevor a few years ago to represent me in a horrible and complicated divorce. Trevor is in my opinion from my experience with him outright incompetent.

He is the type of lawyer who wants to only walk into a courtroom say a few words and move on to the next case.

He will not return your phone calls. He says it’s because he works by himself and has little free time. But if this is so then why does he not work the weekends? God knows I had to work weekends to pay for his horrible representation. FYI don’t be fooled by the third party phone answering service he sometimes hire, he still will not return even those messages.

He has an excuse for everything. He reminds me of a kid telling excuses as to why he did not do his homework. I half expected him to tell me his dog ate the court motion.

In the divorce my temporary support level was set to a outrageously high level. My overtime stopped in the middle of the divorce. We entered into verbal court record a lower final support level (almost half of what I was paying- approximately $800 per month less) but this baffoon never filed paperwork to adjust it. My ex wife’s attorney drafted the final order and done so in a malicious and possibly illegal way not matching what was entered in the verbal court record. Trevor never corrected it and never communicated with ex wife’s attorney. Then after several month’s ex wife’s attorney filed a seven day motion to force the court to rule on it. What did Trevor do? He went on vacation out of the country! The judge signed the malicious and possibly illegal order.

Trevor later filed an amendment, it was sent to mediation in which there was an impasse, Trevor sweet talked me into signing it saying we will take care of it later. But now looking back I see the only thing I did was to release him from representation. After this I continued to try to call him to ask when he would fix the support level. We never returned my calls. Finally I told him I was going to a different lawyer then started to “pretend” to represent me. He lead me on and asked for cash payments of retainers. After another year I fired him. My new attorney was appalled at the mess he left. He said it very well could be a misrepresentation case but lawyers in the same town do not sue each other and to prove the emotional pain and suffering I endured would require a long legal case.

There are so many other painful details I had to endure from him but I can not go into right now for the pain is too great for me even after all the time that has past. I loss thousands of dollars in unjust support levels and unnecessary retainers because of Trevor’s poor representation. And worst of all, his negligence was the root cause unnecessary emotional pain to my children because the divorce never truly ended until after after two years.  Even after all the time that has passed the pain is still there. I only hope that justice will be served on him one day. I am more then willing to testify my horrible experience.
