I wanted to get a refill script for my dog that has been treated by this Vet as recently as two weeks ago. I was told that unless I filled the script at their in house pharmacy for $22 they would charge me $10.50 to write the script. I can get the same meds at Walgreens for $5.50.
I was told by Dr. Juillerat, the owner, that this was legal. I'll have to take his word for it. My wife phoned several other area Vets who all said they don't charge for this service and some actually laughed at the idea.
Dr. Juillerat, just because you can doesn't make it right or ethical. Forcing someone to pay you for a script if they won't use your pharmacy is both poor customer service and makes you and your clinic appear to be more concerned with the almighty dollar then the well being of your clients.

He did the exact same thing to me. It was frustrating because at the same time he was trying to run this game, my dog's real condition went undiagnosed as he spent his energy milking his customers.
When the dust had settled and my dog had finally and needlessly passed, I'm convinced that this experience was rooted in his greed and carelessness. I truly believe he sees his customers as bags of money and he WILL play the "how much do you love your pet" game.

Possibly the only ripoff is to the salary paid to the reading comprehension teacher of the poster saying my math skills are lacking. I never said I filled it for the $22. In fact I did get it filled at Walgreens for $5.50. After agruing the point with this Vet he finally agreed to waive the fee this time and this time only. In order to do this I still needed a script which this Vet wanted to charge me $10.50 for. The point of my post is I think it is a ripoff for him to extort a fee if I won't use his pharmacy. A srandom call to 4 other vets in the area revealed that none of them charge for this service.
For the rest of the posters Walgreens has it's own prescription discount plan. You can sign up your animals under a family plan and receive a discount on their meds. I've found that they carry almost all the meds I've needed for our 6 animals.

If you could get it at Walgreen's for 5.50, after paying 10.50 for the prescription itself, then why in the he** did you get it filled for 22.00 at the vet? That was stupid, and certainly not a ripoff. The only ripoff here was the salary paid to your math teacher.
The level of intelligence on this site is amazing.

Never Heard of This One

wow, never heard of that- all the vets I've dealt with have simply handed me the script if they didn't have it in their pharmacy and there have been times when I've called them and had them call in the script to my pharmacy which was closer than the vets office, I had no problem.
