We are a transport company who agreed to transport a vehicle for an individual who went through this auto transport broker - Tri-Star Carriers Inc. We accepted the order intending it to be a COD which meant that at the time of delivery the customer would pay the driver of our truck the total transport rate agreed upon which was $650.00. We were told prior to pick-up that the vehicle would be going to an individual in Long Beach, CA and the address would be provided to us at a later time. Needless to say it is extremely hard to reach anyone by phone, fax or email at Tri-Star Carriers and NO ONE returns messages left.
After no contact from anyone at Tri-Star we contact the delivery person only to find out he is actually in Hawaii and this car is to go to a shipping dock out in Long Beach, CA. When we asked the customer about how he was going to pay us ( since he was actually in Hawaii and would not be there at the shipping dock in Long Beach ) he tells us that he has already paid and that Tri-Star had charged his credit card a $200.00 deposit PLUS the $650.00 that is suppose to be paid us at delivery.
We finally get an answer from Tri-Star Carriers and they admit that they have mishandled the arrangements for this vehicle transport and YES they have charged the customer the $650.00 that is due us for the transport of the vehicle. We were told that we would be paid via a company check sent out to us immediately upon receipt of an invoice. We faxed them an invoice and have yet to see our money. I have made numerous phone calls. I have emailed. I have faxed and NO ONE responds to any attempt to collect our payment.
If there is anyone out there who is considering doing business with Tri-Star Carriers, Inc. -DON'T. There are many other auto transport brokers out there who will provide you with an honest quality service.
Please research these companies before you use them. This is one that you do not want to give a dime of your money to.

January 22 we receive a phone call from Tri-Star Carriers. Oh my gosh! They inform us that they have a check for us and are going to send it out that day. Three weeks later we finally get the check - must have sent it pony express or something?!?! Finally........ we receive our money in the form of a company check from Tri-Star Carriers only to have it returned to us from the bank due to NON SUFFICIENT FUNDS! We will be turning it over to our local sheriffs department for issuance of a worthless check. Will keep you posted as to the outcome.
