My 2 vehicles were impounded during a small arrest by the East Pittsburgh Police Dept. of East Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. There was first of all no reason for the vehicles to be impounded as they were parked on a residential street, and could have been left there until such time as I was either able to retrieve them myself, or have my son retrieve them.

I feel that the Police Dept has a working arrangenent with Tri-valley automotive and that kick-backs were in order if the vehicles were impounded. The vehicles were towed to Tri-valley Automotive located about 1 1/2 blocks away from where they could have remained. They were off the road and not blocking traffic, or in anyone's way.

The vehicles were (stored) at Tri-valley automotive for approxmatly 20 hours. I was charge $230 dollars for a 1 1/2 block tow, and 20 hours of storage...in cash. Tri-valley Automotive would not accept my check, or my credit card as any normal above board business would do. Instead insisting on a purely cash payment before they would release my vehicles.

Not only do I feel that I was ripped off, and my money taken for no good reason, I also feel that I was taken advantage of because I happened to be arrested over a trivial matter, and that the Police Dept. and Tri-valley Automotive are in collusion to rip-off people in trouble for their own monetary gains.

I of course have no proof that there exists a collusion between the East Pittsburgh police dept., and Tri-Valley automotive, nor do I have any proof that even Tri Vally Automotive is accepting large amounts of cash and not reporting it to the IRS as income...however it will be up to the criminal investagation division of the IRS to make their decision regarding this case as I have turned Tri-Valley Automotive into them for review and possible audit.
