Hello:

I have been the victim of a consumer credit card scam/fraud. On 24 Sep I received my Discover Card bill and noticed 12 charges of $1 each (above subsidiaries). I immediately called Discover to contest these items. On 25 Sep I received a Membership Package from Great Fun/Trilegiant. This was a welcome to the trial programs ($1 each). The brochure went on to state that my credit card would be charged for $89.99 after the trial period. I did not order above services and I did not authorize the charges!

I have done some Internet research and have found that Trilegiant is well known to the BBB and sites dedicated to consumer fraud/protection.
Apparently this is how the scam works:

1) They obtain your credit card information from a shady 3rd party.

2) They sign you up for trial memberships with small charge amounts that they hope you will overlook.

3) They send you a Membership Package that looks like the usual junk mail received everyday and hope you throw it away without opening.

4) They then charge you $89.99 the next billing cycle.

Even if you contest and are refunded your money they have had use of your money and may keep the Trial period dues. With thousands of victims this could amount to a lot of money!

I want Trilegiant and all their subsidiaries to cease and desist!
