I am very displeased with Trips Incentives. We were told that we were being given a "gift," affiliated with the tuxedo rentals for our wedding. Later I was informed that I had to pay a $50 deposit for the reservation and that it was a timeshare vacation, involving a 2 hour sales presentation, but that we would have a 3 day, 2 night stay in the resort area. My husband and I had thought about a timeshare in the past, so we decided to add this trip into our honeymoon. When I tried to book a location, I was told that I called too soon. I called again later, to discover that our first 2 choices were full. Our third choice was Ft. Lauderdale, but no one there seemed to be able to tell us anything about the area or any fun places to go. A Google search helped, but not much. When my husband and I arrived in Ft. Lauderdale, we were told that our reservation had been cancelled. We were sent to Sunrise, FL, outside of the resort area and our $50 was transferred to another upcoming presentation in Orlando, which we found strange, since we would be looking at a timeshare during this trip. After this experience, we would like to have our money back. When we arrived at this other hotel, they did not have a reservation for us either and were kind of rude to us about it. We turned in our voucher and they were able to work it out, with a $70 reservation fee (refundable). The "presentation" we were to attend was an hour away from the hotel that we were assigned. We arrived 1/2 hour early for our presentation and informed the people there that we have reservations for something at 5:15. We were told it would be a tight squeeze for the drive, due to traffic, but that it shouldn't be a problem. Although our realtor and the tour were nice, the presentation lasted for 5 hours, causing us to spend the majority of the day there (7 hours including travel time) and miss the reservations that we so clearly informed people of. We were provided lunch, which was also an issue. I'm allergic to onions and told the waitress to make sure my husband and I were not given anything with onions. Not only did our realtor have a pile of freshly cut onions on his sandwich but the sandwiches my husband and I were given had the onions taken off after being on them already, causing my tongue to swell. Onions can kill me, like the reaction that some people have to peanuts. That's why we informed the waitress, in front of the realtor. I felt that he was very inconsiderate, since fumes wafted my way, causing me discomfort. I had to take medication and was in a daze for the rest of the day. I asked our 'realtor' several times for some sort of numbers, but the presentation just stretched on and on. After a high intense sales pitch at the end of the 5 hours, we were told shockingly high amounts, which were eventually whittled down to a more reasonable amount for something that we didn't want, at some random place in Orlando. There is absolutely no way that we were going to sign a contract and pay for something we hadn't seen. Was this some sort of bait and switch tactic? There's nothing like the pressure of 3 different people lowering costs and making us feel like some sort of charity case, while trying to get money from us. Had I known there would be such high pressure and high closing costs associated with a time share, we wouldn't have wasted their time or ours. When leaving the presentation, our information had been lost again. We were given another voucher to stay in Sunrise, after they almost gave us something regarding a cruise, which we had no clue about. We called the hotel in Sunrise, which once again did not have a reservation for us. When we arrived, there was more confusion and an additional $35 refundable deposit. Luckily, they accepted our voucher, after that hour long drive, with no notification from Trips Incentives. They found us an available room, which was for handicapped people and slightly uncomfortable, with slanted floors and a bench in the shower. I'm guessing this was the only room available. We left in the morning, feeling very disappointed in our gift of a "free trip" and thinking that it would have been nicer to just go somewhere we wanted to go and pay for our own hotel room and lunch, getting to do something we wanted to do and not look into getting a time share. We felt looked down upon for not buying a time share and completely snubbed by people. Was it my husband's tattoos and that I'm more comfortable in my Nikes than in a flashy pair of heels? That really is an unfair judgement, especially when we got a snooty attitude from some woman behind the counter at the hotel. Luckily, we were able to put this behind us and the remainder of our honeymoon went off without a hitch, in Miami. There's no sign of our $50 yet though. I e-mailed Trips Incentives through their website, but received confirmation of my e-mail saying that someone would be in contact with us about our reservation. Nooo thank you.
