Dropped off a fish my granddaughter caught on her Barbie fishing pole. It was a 27" Walleye and though not a fish you would normally mount, it was very special to her as it was almost as big as her and took her 20 minutes to reel it in.
I was told it would be ready in a couple months. Great, done in time to surprise her for her birthday. She loves to fish and is Grandpa fishing buddy. Well, a year later, after many, many unreturned calls, I finally got him to answer the phone 1 day and just said I am coming to get it on Saturday. Well low and behold on Saturday it was done.
But, what a Joke. In my opinion, an amateur could have done just as good. It was the wrong color for the kind of fish it was. It was Pike green and absolutely no shine.
My neighbors laughed when I showed them the fish. One suggested I take a photo and post it at Gander Mountain with the name of the Taxidermy and comments under: This was done by Trophy Time Taxidermy. Do you want them doing your Taxidermy work? I have posted the photo, but it gets taken down every couple weeks and I have to put up another copy.
Anyway, did take it to another Taxidermist and he was able to remove all the paint and repaint it, but he could not do anything about the poor mount. Still looks much better and her fish is now on the wall.
Take your memories somewhere else, I think this guy is a joke and shouldn't even be in the business.

For one if your dropping anything off at Trophy Time Taxidermy it is not going to take 2 months to get it back! I have ten big chest freezers, I have it right on the contract that it will be an approximate 9 -14 months to get you trophy back and that is what everyone is told when they drop their stuff off. I am fulltime and I would not have this much work if everything that I put out the door was crap. I get referrals all the time, I just had a guy call friday that he is bringing a walleye over that he was referred from someone else. The problem is people are used to seeing fish painted in the 1960's where they are very yellow on the side of the fish and very chocolate on the top, well look at your next walleye when you catch it and see all the colors on the side of that fish. If you want a fish to look a particular color than you need to supply a picture of it. A fish left in the livewell is going to loose all its color. If someone ever has a problem with the color of their fish I will gladley repaint it if they give me a picture to go by. Its funny thou when he left the shop he was happy and never said anything, like I said if he didnt like the color I could have repainted it. I get fish that others have mounted all the time that I have to repaint, so I must be doing something right.
