On May 13, 2914, I purchased a 2011 Suzuki V-Strom motorcycle and was hastily rushed out the door without being provided an owner's manual. I called the store on several occasions to ask them to remedy the situation but they refused to get one for me at their expense.
I was told by the business manager that I could easily find one online but she did not offer to pay for it. I called and spoke with parts and all he told me is that they are not a Suzuki dealership. Furthermore, before purchasing the motorcycle I was assured by the owner that the tires on the bike had at least 3,000 miles of life left on them
He was wrong as I went to try to trade the bike July 10, 2014 and found out that the tires were worn to the cords---400 miles after buying the bike. I am too old to be racing or abusing a bike so this does not make sense.
How can any reputable company sell a bike at full retail with mediocre tires? Never purchase a used bike at this dealership without a mechanic along is my advice.

Tropic Powersports and bad knee

I would like to add to my orginal complaint regarding Tropic Powersports, Fort Myers, FL. I bought the bike on the sole recommendation of the owner and never tried to negotiate him down on price as I usually do. He is a very charming and excellent salesman just "like an old shoe." However, the bike rides higher than a normal motorcycle, as he admonished me it would.
The problem I am having now is my right knee is getting worse and worse with each trip that I take. I the bike has unusually poor engineering regarding weight in the front end instead of even weight distribution which is found in premium bikes like BMW and Trimph. I fear taking the bike out because each time I ride it my knee suffers further strain and swelling due to its heavy eneven weight distribution.
For the record, I took the bike to Gulf Coast Motorcycles to trade up for a Triumph but found out that the resale was going to poor due to its need of new tires and soft front brakes I feel I was lied to regarding the tires, since I have never come close to the redline before shifting. I always shift before 6000 rpms. I have owned the bike for less than 3 months and only 400 miles of riding.

I just would like to add to my previous complaint that had I been able to ride the vehicle before purchase I may have decided that the Suzuki was not the right bike for me. I have a bad knee and since riding the motorcycle it has become worse.
This bike was not designed for me in the first place due to its uneven front weight and poorly uneven balance. The bike is definitely not evenly centered and feel the dealer was not forthright about certain aspects of the bike. Unfortunately, it is my only form of transportation and fear my knee will worsen as I use it out of necessity. Due to the bike's weight and height , I strain to keep it upright at times and this is causing more damage to my knee.
I do not have enough equity in the bike to sell it at this point. For the record, Gulf Coast Motorcycles said that they would have to put new tires on it if they accepted it in a trade.
