tropical rental machine stopped working arcadia Florida

went to tropical rental and paid $250 to rent a boom lift for a day .i left with the machine around 8:30 am and is was to be back at 8:30 am the next day .when i finally i left with the lift and got to where i was working it was about 12:00pm.i used the lift for about 3 hours and it stopped working leaving me stuck in the air at about 30 feet .i was able to find a branch in a nearby tree and get down.we got the machine to let the bucket down by using the emergancy manual let down.we could not get the feet up to tow it back so we called and the only wanted to tell me that we only made it was by letting it down manualy.they came to get it the next day and only want to offer me three days .3 days is what they are saying is half a day and 8 is a full.but why if i picked up at 830am would it have to be at 830am if there day is only 8 hours.3 hours is useless to me when it take me an hour to get there and hour to get back.so i get screwed because i cant finish the job to support my familyand i dont have another 250 dollars to rent another machine.250$ for 6 hours..
