I have been a customer with TRS at Ashley Furniture located in Fayetteville, NC since 2006. I purchased a bunk bed for my son, I paid monthly and even when I was unable to pay the entire bill each month I met the required amount a TRS employee would instruct me to pay.
In December 2008 I asked Monty who is the TRS Supervisor the number of payments I have left he said I have 2 meaning January & February after I've paid December's payment. I informed him I was unable to pay the entire payment shy of $21.00 but paid the bulk of $100.00. I used a check on an account that I found out my account number was wrong. I immediately contacted that store in addition to other stores where I have wrote checks.
TRS instructed me to come in with the $100.00 cash and I did I was told that the $30.00 return fee would be added to my January 2009 bill in addition to the $21.00 I failed to pay. At this point I said ok, when I called on January 24th to pay the bed off I was told I owed $418.00, which is double the amount of the pay-off. I was told that I was charged for the December payment, the $30.00 return, in addition to January and February's bill.
Apparently, they've taken the $100.00 CASH & did not apply it, charged me $274.00 in addition to January & February's bill. My normal monthly bill is $121.00 times 2 = $242.00 plus the $30 fee and $21.00 would have a balance of 293.00 NOT $418.00. This was a TOTAL and complete rip-off and I would NEVER recommend ANYONE to use TRS @ Ashley Furniture!!!! They change employees like water! There is NO corporate office number which they refer, who do you complain to if you get no where with the locals!?

We are a military family who purchased $6,000 worth of furniture last year June 2008 in the Fayettville, N.C. store ,we just pcsed here from Fort Rucker, Alabama and of course in our move the movers damaged quite a bit of our furniture so of course the first place we went was to an ASHLEY STORE because of the name and quality of the items and warranty's they offer. We in the past have bought several pieces of furniture from Ashley over the years in fact it's the only furniture we will buy we have spent $1,000's of dollars worth we have had the same saleslady from Enterprise, Alabama (Miss Cindy) her hubby works at the Dothan, Alabama store they are awesome people and have always gotten us the best deals and stood behind Ashley's warranties of items we have purchased in the past and supported the military community, there has never been a problem till here............. it's stores ran like this particular one and management that give the company a bad name and make you think twice why in the world did we ever do business with such a unfit outfit?????!!!!????? There is so much that has happened we would'nt even know where to start, however we have spoke to Jag and a local attorney who was once a staff judge advocate here at Fort Bragg, N.C. and we have also called Miss Cindy back in Alabama trying to get suggestions on what we can do so right now were gathering names of people who have had problems with this store and the 4 other ones that are owned by Frede Enterprises we still are in contact with 2 ex-employees it's amazing at one other's comment that was posted here and read they change their employees like they change their underwear everyday there's someone new and different. We know from experience each time we go into the store there's several different people. STRANGE????? Anyone interested in helping support our efforts to get customer satisfaction and what is owed to "US" please feel free to email us at snlmangus69@nc.rr.com !!!ASAP!!! Because of this being a franchise store and know one will disclose any of the owners info.AGAIN KIND OF STRANGE ???? WHAT"S THE BIG SECRET ???? On who owns the 4 local stores can we assume the owner has had so many complaints he is now screening his calls and his employees are left to do his dirty work and make his decisions for him or should we say excuses!!! The Ashley Corporation in Wisconsin will not do anything directly to assist in resolving our complaints except send notification of our complaint being made to the store for "THEIR" management to handle the problem and we get no where all excuses, no call returns, did'nt get the message, managers not in, he no longer works here it's just one thing after another and 7 months later still not a lot of resolution and unanswered ?????'s My husband is deploying soon and he wanted this all resolved before leaving we can think of a lot more important things to be doing and worrying about besides this!!! So this pretty much tells us that this company is out to make a profit and is not one bit concerned about customer service and the worst part of it all is this a very large military community and the majority of their customers are in the service and don't deserve this kind of treatment!!!! Thank you very much to anyone who wishes to help support our endeavor to let this particular company know they cannot walk all over the general public. Please also beware not all Ashley Stores are run in this manor there are a few that slip between the cracks if we as consumers don't stand up and voice our concerns then businesses like this will continue to exist and getaway with treating customers unfairly and take our hard earned money with no repercussions.
