Dec 2007, TRS began sending me notices that they were trying to collect for 2 bad checks that I did NOT write. I found out they were my ex's. He had written them from an account my name had never been on.
I wrote my letter disputing the validity of the debt as TRS instructed. Yet, In January they continued to come after me. My ex gave me 2 notices from his bank showing where he had written them and they had been returned. So I mailed copies to TRS.
Then they sent me papers to fill out saying that I was claiming my name had been forged or my checks stolen.I refused to do this as this is not what happened.They were not checks from my account! So I faxed them the copies of my ex's bank notices, and wrote my dispute of the debt again! And I requested photocopies of the checks, as TRS said was my right.
They ignored my request and continued to pursue me. I have since even gotten a copy of the actual check my ex wrote, since it was deposited electronically he got the check back right then and was able to find one of the 2 for me.
It took 4 months to even get a # for TRS that allowed me to speak to a person,not a computer. And now they are refusing to send me photocopies...get this...because I say they are not my checks! Yet they are still pursuing me!
This has been going on for 4 1/2 months with no end in sight. And this entire time it is on my credit report,and my check writing status has been suspended. This means that any store that subscribes to TRS will not accept my check. I have written/faxed/called TRS about 10 times.

TRS/Telecheck does not easily provide a phone number that you can call and actually get a person to talk to.Usually it goes to an automated system that ....if it does not answer your questions...then just gives you an address to send your written inquiries.
I,however,have been in a battle for over 4 months with them and have been able to obtain a number that leads directly to their employee....Mr.Frizzell.
