I just wanted to report the following contractor for scamming me out of over $20,000. The contractor is "True Elegance Fine Carpentry & Flooring" based in the Houston, Texas area. He may also go by the name of ”J&R Flooring”. Mr. Joel Serna (real name is Jose Joel Serna Martinez) misrepresented his capabilities as a GC and then walked off the job with a $20,000 2nd draw and no work performed on the 2nd phase. He now refuses to return my funds. Also, the first phase was substandard as he put the plumbing in the wrong place and the form work for the foundation was wrong. Through all this he also failed multiple permit inspections and caused many delays in construction. The man is not truthful, is lazy, and becomes rude once he is hired. Please do not let this rip off artist take advantage of anyone else.
