Complaint:
I feel this company (true.com) has stepped over the lines as far as contractual agreements are concerned as well as billing practices.
There customer service department is poorly trained and has very shady practices in place.

Details

I went to the Website www.true.com on april of last month. I noticed a free trial the company was offering. I signed up for this trial; but felt somewhat awkward when the trial asked for a credit card. Since they had advertised this as a Free Trial I used a credit card that I only use for depositing my check into. At the time this credit card had $0 on it.

I signed up for the free trial and did not like it at all. I tried to find a way to cancel the service but could not find any cancel service information on the website. Since the card was empty anyways, I expected them to try to start my service after the 7 days was up and be declined. This is exactly what happened.

30 days later, they charged me again, and this time there was money on the card!

I never agreed to any service that would continue to try and try to bill my credit card for past months of service, that's ridiculous. If such a thing was possible, people who have used any service and were unable to cancel the service would be in debt to the company for as long as the company seemed it could continue to charge the person.

I have contacted the company several times today, and have also contacted my credit card company.

The $50 they charged me may be insignificant to them, but to me it was grocery money for the next two weeks.

There customer service department refused to do anything other then cancel future payments. I never used the service past the trial date, and they even confirmed this fact. They also admited that they tried to start the service and were declined; yet kept on trying till it suceeded in payment.
