I received an email from TrueCredit advising me that my "fraud monitoring service" was not renewed due to a problem with my credit card; however, my husband has the same service and his was renewed using the same credit card. Called 1-866-212-2170 to further investigate and I was told that my Visa transaction was initially approved and it was their bank's fault for not collecting the money. So I asked how this can be fixed and the corporat reresentative said it cannot be fixed because they no longer off the service. I responded "Then how come my husband still has this service?" They responded "Because your husbands credit card was authorized and money was collected." I responded "Well, get your bank to complete the transaction for my account." They responded "We can't because the service is no longer available." The bottom line is they made a mistake that caused my "grandfathered" service to be canceled. Also, during that call, I was under great pressure from the rep to just buy the new service offering at $29.95 per month (instead of $10.95 per quarter). I really believe this specific sequence of events is happening to other subscribers of this service with the sole intent of pressuring them into a new (more costly) service. The whole thing doesn' make sense because both of our accounts have the same renewal date, both accounts were authorized on the same day, and the bank only collect 1 of the 2 authorizations? Again, It wouldn't surprise me if this is a planned fraudulent activity. Please investigate thoroughly!
