Louis Toledo, President/CEO of TS Roofing Systems engages in highly deceitful practices in an attempt to steal marketing ideas and grow his company.

I applied for a Marketing Manager position that TS Roofing Systems advertised on Indeed.com. I spoke with Zucel Nunez (HR) and was scheduled for an in person interview with Louis Toledo on June 26, 2017 at 10am. I met with Louis for no longer than 10 minutes - but he expressed that he wanted me to return for a second interview later in the week.

On June 28th, Zucel scheduled a second interview with Louis for June 30th at 1pm. But she went on to explain that Louis was expecting me to bring a complete marketing plan for them to consider.

I thought this was a highly unusual request considering that I only spoke with the President for 10 minutes. There is much about the business I need to know in order to present a full marketing plan. And with only 1 day until the meeting, the request seemed impossibile. But I did it anyway.

I spent over 12 hours performing research and preparing an extensive digital marketing plan for the company. It covered recommendations to vastly improve their SEO efforts, keyword analysis, website, social media pages, website optimization, pay per click improvements, and online reviews. The marketing plan contained very detailed analysis, recommendations, ideas.

The plan also included the details of a "referral program" to get both former and current customers to refer new customers to them.

The entire plan was presented in the meeting with Louis on June 30th with great approval and praise. He immediately fell in love with the "referral program" and extracted more information on exactly how to implement it.

After 2 hours of discussing all of my ideas, suggestions, and recommendations, he praised my background, my experience, my ideas and stated "man, clearly you can do this job. I'd like to call you in one more time."

I went out of town for the July 4th holiday and when I returned to schedule the final meeting, he has hired another person.

It is my firm belief that Louis Toledo never had any intention of actually hiring me. Instead he was fishing for ideas on how to grow his company. And he used this interview process as a deceptive way to get me to give him a complete digital marketing plan full of ideas and suggestions that he can now implement. And he probably will.

(If the TS Roofing Systems announces a formal "referral program" for customers - that idea came from me).

Louis Toledo (TS Roofing Systems) may have earned a great repuation in serving customers. But his hiring practices are deceptive. He should not be allowed to pretend to be considering hiring someone, just to steal and use their ideas for his own gain.

Finding a job is hard enough as it is - without people like Louis Toledo trying to take advantage of job seekers and extract free work from them. Avoid working for this company.
