Tutor Enterprises of Niagara Falls, NY and St. Catharine's Ontario produces "French bit-by-bit" and "Spanish bit-by-bit" software to both individuals and schools. (They also advertise "Italian Bit-by-Bit" and "German Bit-by-Bit" software, even though they have no software for those languages.) The software itself is inferior and difficult to install. In addition, when you buy this software, you are only allowed to use it on one computer.
If you want to purchase additional "licenses" you must pay more. The company is unresponsive to emails. The software is sold directly to consumers via www.softwareforlanguages.com. There are also several retail outlets:

Response to critical Jeanne and correction to her inaccuracies

This Ripoff Report was just brought to my attention or we would have responded earlier. The software we produce is sold at very affordable prices compared to our major competitor who advertises on major US television networks and charges many times more for their product. The multimedia software French, Bit By Bit and Spanish, Bit By Bit is made available in volumes which are sold as single station licenses, classroom license or school license. For example, if a language learner wishes to buy Volume 1 of French, Bit By Bit, he purchases the volume for $19.99 which gives him the right to use the software on a single station (one computer). For a household, when we are asked for activation codes for more than one computer, we do not hesitate to give out more than one. For use in a classroom or lab, the license is $139.99 and for use in an entire school the license cost is $199.99. The licenses have no expiry date. As far as the limitation on the number of computers the software can be used on, the buyer in this case does not understand that what you purchase is the right to use the software, but not the software itself. This is no different that purchasing other software such as Nortons or Microsoft Office.
I don't understand why Jeanne would say that we advertise Italian, Bit By Bit and German, Bit By Bit, but we have no software for these languages. We have taken care to explain on our website under TEXTBASED software, that French, Bit By Bit, Spanish, Bit By Bit, Italian, Bit By Bit, German, Bit By Bit are available but are limited to text only and do not contain graphics or sound. All of these titles most certainly exist and can be purchased along with Italian, Bit By Bit: Il Passato; Spanish, Bit By Bit: El Pasado.
We have had a good working relationship with our distributors for many years. Our primary educational distributors in Jeanne's area are Tralco Educational, located in Hamilton and Poster Pals in Smithville. Any concerns they have ever related back to us by purchasers were dealt with promptly to the buyer's satisfaction .
Since we rely on email communication to receive the serial numbers registered by a purchaser in order to send out the registration/activation codes, it seems very strange to read that we are unresponsive to emails. I wonder if this dissatisfied customer sent the emails to the wrong address, although she must have contacted us in order to receive the activation codes in order to give the assessment of the software.
Installation is extremely simple. A CD placed in the tray activates the Autorun program. From the menu on the monitor, one simply selects install. There must be enough room on the hard drive, of course, for the installation to take place. Once installed, there is an icon on the desktop. Click on icon to run the program. Nothing could be simpler. No computing knowledge is required.
Before making a potentially damaging report as this, why did Jeanne not contact the distributor if she was not able to reach us? On what comparison is she basing the evaluation that the software is "inferior"? Is she comparing it to Rosetta Stone which costs ten times more?
