My child returned from his fitting at Tuxedo Junction (Oaklyn, New Jersey) with an order ticket marked waist size 34".  I called the store and notified the sales associate that my son has a waist size of 30", and I asked her to change the size on the order.

When I took his tux out of the bag the night before the prom, I noticed that the size on the slacks had not been changed, and the tuxedo pants looked worn out and the shirt was wrinkled. I called the store and lodged a complaint.  I asked if they could deliver smaller slacks by the next afternoon.  I was told that they had no one to make the delivery.

The next evening as my son dressed for the prom, he noticed a large hole along the pants' inseam and a few tiny holes along the waistband and hem.   (My son had not noticed the holes during his fitting.)  My husband and I examined the pants and noticed that the thread in the pants actually appeared rotten.

Minutes before prom, my husband and I quickly took a picture of the holes in the tux and then I frantically hand-sewed the black pants with dark blue thread--all I had on hand.  The calamity reached its climax when we realized my son would not reach his date's house on time for the photographs!  My husband called the store, furious about the poor fit and condition of the tux and the inconvenience to our family.  We were told that we needed to speak with Gary.  Gary never returned our call.

When we returned the tux, we gave the owner photographs of the pants before the holes were sewn, and we told the manager we wanted a refund for the pants only. He told us that as soon as he received a refund from the supplier, we would get our refund.  We called the store five times from our home phone to check on the status of the refund, and we were told to try to reach Gary on his personal cell line.  My husband tried Gary's cell numerous times, and the voice mailbox was usually full.   We have been waiting 4 months and still have not received a refund.  Tuxedo Junction has provided rotten, unprofessional service along with the rotten pants!

A Good Lesson

AUTHOR: Cory - (U.S.A.)

Your son isn't gonna have mommy and daddy to dress him for the rest of his life. MAYBE if the kid or you, had taken the time to try on or look at the items when they were picked up, all this could have been avoided. He's going to have to grow up sometime. What's that old saying? Prior planing prevents.........
