I avoided getting truly ripped off by this company simply by paying attention to their questionable business practices and checking them out online. I was introduced to them by signs stapled on telephone poles in my neighborhood directing me to "LosFelizSingles.org". The site in question contained only an HTML form, which I filled out for the hell of it. Within a day or two, I began receiving considerably more spam in my email inbox than I had previously, having signed up for nothing else using that particular email address at any point in the recent past. I began to receive numerous calls from the "relationship consultants" in their office, who wanted to set me up with an appointment at their Westwood location. They refused to reveal their pricing structure over the phone, and insisted they had to meet all applicants in person before allowing them to join the dating pool in their program. Fair enough, I thought, but when I decided to cancel my appointment for unrelated reasons, I was treated to a variety of manipulative "hard sell" tactics over the phone, clearly meant to embarrass or shame me into keeping the appointment (example: "So you're not ready to have a real relationship?") After canceling the appointment, I continued to receive calls from them (from blocked numbers), and have requested each time to be removed from their database and not bothered again.
