ubertechsupport.com scam
I was surfing the Internet when a pop-up came up and froze my computer. It said I had been infected with a virus and had to call the number to have it fixed by tech support. I called the number and the guy with an Indian accent answered. He asked for remote access through teamviewer which I stupidly allowed. He asked for my name and address which I gave. He tried telling me that I had a virus called Koobface. Then he said it would be $600 to fix it! I told him I had to check with my husband before I spent that kind of money and then he got very insistent. I then got on my internet on my iPhone and discovered it was a scam! No money lost but personal information jeopardized.

I read your statement. I've had the same thing take place: Pop up, computer freezes, call the number, etc. They were given my first name & no other information. I took my lap top to a local business and he took care of it. I find it interesting your complaint was filed under complaints against uber, especially since uber has nothing to do with the mutual problem.
