Like others who were suckered into this scam, we were tricked into believing this could save us a lot of money when I retired. However, we found that every time we needed to buy something, we could always find a similar item for much less elsewhere! It was virtually impossible to find the exact items that were shown in the UCC catalogues, and they were so expensive to begin with, that it was never worth it to purchase anything from UCC!

After realizing we had been had, I wrote a letter to the company asking for a refund because of all the money I had invested and wasted in the company, but there was nothing to be done short of hiring a lawyer which would have cost thousands of dollars with no guarantee that our money would be refunded. Stay away from anything like this, whether it goes by this name or Direct Buy!!

I have saved thousands shopping at UCC

AUTHOR: DIane - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, September 27, 2010

Hi, I have been a UCC customer for over 10 years. The first purchase that my husband and I  made we had already saved the money that we had to pay to join the club.

I was a little leary when making the decision to join but my husband felt it was worth it since we were only in our 20's.

The contract that you sign clearly states that you mustpay the money up fron and what you purchase can not be returned unless damaged.

We have found that the biggest savings are on larger items. We had carpeted our home we built for half of the price it would have cost for retail. The quality of the carpet was exeptional and it lasted 10 years in my home. I wanted to redecorate and my younger sister was able to use that same carpet in her family room because of it's quality.

UCC is not a scam. If you had listened and read what you had signed maybe you wouldn't have been in this situation. I do believe there was a 3 day time period that you had to get out of the deal legally.

Ithink it's terrible you had such a bad expierience with UCC. I think my only problem with it is I don't take advantage of it as much as I should.

P.S. When we joined it was also a whole lot less expensive to join. I believe $1000.00
