DirectBuy of Portland formerly known as UCC TotaHome not only lied to prospective clients, but did so intentionally. We were not allowed to look at the catalogues either, but when we asked about specific products (product codes/details given by us) they informed us they would beat the price...just sign on the bottom line. We did sign, and regret it ever since.
Each time we request assistance, it isn't there. We compared their prices, which do beat name brand, but once you add in their freight, shipping, handling, you may as well spend your money on something you can see in person, rather than a catalog, because their prices are always MORE. We have NEVER used our membership only because we priced out the item(s)then request a quote, and we found it cheaper "retail". Service is disorganized and unprofessional. We got duped! Would love to find other members like us who can ban together to file suit. Is anyone interested? It is worth a try, but need power in numbers! Don't purchase a membership, you will regret it!

Henry, Ken and Donna,
We have filed with the Attorney General's office last month. The company sent their canned response in regard to my complaint, promising the Attorney Gen Office they would refund IF we could prove we were mislead. They are prepared with their responses, as they are professional con-artists and there have been thousands of complaints at the head corporate level as well as many at local level.
An attorney friend said this would be an easy case to prove, but may or may not be successful in getting a refund. However, my general purpose in filing with Attny Gen office is to prevent others from getting scammed. I am behind and with you and also happy to learn I am not alone.
Let's keep this going...but how? Make the public aware: KEEP filing, every place on the web, especially local level such as advertising/public city search sites. Tell your story. Over and over again!!

Ken, Thank you for your interest in filing a Lawsuit. Yes, I DID already file with the Attorney General's office. I also spoke with them on the phone recently. We need to locate a Lawyer. Any ideas? Also, go in person to the AG's office and insist that they investigate Directbuy. More pressure the better.
Kelly, have you filed yet?
Also, Donna of Sherwood do you want in too?
I would like to get going on this ASAP. But need help locating a lawyer.

Have either of you filed with the Attorney General of Oregon against DirectBuy of Portand? I too would like to combine forces and file a lawsuit against this company.
I am in the process of writing my letter to Oregon's Attorney General and submitting in the next couple of days.

Kelly, please file a report with the Oregon Attorney General's Office ASAP. I filed a report with them but they wouldn't investigate because I was the only one to file.
I too would like to combine forces and file a lawsuit against this company.
Are there any others who would like to join us?
