I approached luckasz on Facebook as I was looking for a professional logo designer! He came across as the nicest man and was very quick with responses. He has a very good portfolio, so I decided to contact him, he said it will cost me 450 euros which I thought was a little expensive but my business partner convinced me that we need to pay for quality and creativity. We didn't discuss refunds or how procedures work, we was told to pay 150 euros upfront and that we will receive 3 unique designs which will be tailored to our business concept and around the information will filled in about our business in the brief he sent us. I signed up to PayPal and he sent me a link to pay into and I just followed his instruction and payed him 150 euros. We didn't discuss anything about the process of work or if we might be unhappy about the work or refunds. We waited two weeks, I sent him a few emails asking about the progress 3 days or so before the finish date his responses took days and long hours to reply but when he did reply he said: "that either we want good work or quick work" which I replied good work and waited till the two weeks was up. When we received the work it was very very basic and looked like it was rushed, not only that but he had sent us logos that he had previously done before for previous businesses which we have proof of as its on his Facebook profile. He has recycled old work and sent over basic logos!! Which we thought was very unfair so we told him we wasn't happy with any of the work and that it didn't have anything in relation to the brief he had asked for about our business. In the brief we clearly referred to some of the work we wanted our logo to look like on a other websites where there is pictures for him to see but he clearly didn't check them. When we let him know we was very unhappy with the work and asked if we could have more samples and this time we sent him even more images for him to have a clear idea of what we where looking for. He asked for an extra 150 euros which we thought was very unfair and expressed that it would be an on going cycle that we would be paying for samples that we wouldn't be happy with because he lacked creativity and kept recycling old work and we will be literally throwing money down a drain. So we asked him if we could have our money back as we didn't receive anything from him and he said no because his done the work that we had asked him to. We believe this is very wrong of him as he has just sent us work that his previously done for others and just changed the name. This is the first time we used PayPal we was told that it was very secure and would actually hold our money till we give the green light to hand over our money. Please do not give this man our money as he doesn't deserve it and we've clearly been duped. Please look at the similarities of the work he sent us to the work he has on his Facebook profile attached to this email. I can send you all the messages and emails at request if you need it we don't have nothing to hide, this is the first time we used a professional logo maker and its turned out to be a very stressful ordeal and a waste of time that we couldn't afford to lose.

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company
False allegations, utter lack of knowledge and unfamiliarity with standards
AUTHOR: Łukasz Kowalik - (Poland)
SUBMITTED: Thursday, June 30, 2016
Dear All,
At the very beginning, I would like to pay attention to the anonymity of this post and the lack of any identification data of a person who slander my company – Beetroot Graphics. There is no reason to remain anonymous if someone is honest and has nothing to hide.
The situation described in the above post concerns Mr Sirus Naroei from London, UK, and his company – EATARIA.
However, the description published by Mr Naroei is, actually, very different from the factual state. First of all, Mr Naroei was well aware of the proposed cooperation conditions and had been notified of any necessary advance payments for the preparation of 3 demo designs projects. Finally, he received 6 different versions to choose from.
Unfortunately, he liked none of the presented design projects and asked for more but, as I have already mentioned above, our agreement provided for only 3 demo versions.
It is untrue that conceptual design projects submitted to Mr Naroei had been previously sold to any other third party. I have no idea on what basis Mr Naroei drew this conclusion, but it is an utter nonsense. The said versions (2 out of 6) had been designed earlier for fun or had been rejected by other customers in the past. They were part of my portfolio, but none of them have ever been used by any of my clients.
Furthermore, it is untrue that Mr Naroei received design projects that were identical with those shown in my portfolio. All submitted projects were well thought-out and adequately tailored to the needs of the EATERIA brand. I decided to rely on them as I felt that they represented the idea very well.
It is also untrue that Mr Naroei showed me any sample projects or provided me with any links to graphics that illustrated his preferences. No such information was included in the brief. In a relevant box, Mr Naroei simply wrote: “No graphics”. The brief was completed in a very general manner, sparing with words. Therefore, I let my intuition guide me throughout the process, which is usually the case with many clients. In 90% of such cases, my intuition never fails me.
Mr Sirus Naroei showed me some sample logos that meet his expectations, but it was after I had presented him with my design projects.
Besides, it’s not clear to me why Mr Naroei complains about the duration of the development process as he had been informed that it would take 2 weeks. What is more, Mr Naroei received my proposals exactly at the right time.
Also, I don’t understand why Mr Naroei thinks that he is entitled to the reimbursement of any costs. Even though he didn’t like my projects, he should remember that he has employed a graphic designer by commissioning work and making an order. Irrespective of the customer’s taste, graphic designers dedicate their time and generate concepts, even if their work relies on previously developed ideas.
Thus, clearly, Mr Naroei doesn’t understand that this still counts as performance of work that should be paid with adequate remuneration.
All in all, this dispute does not arise from problems on my part, but from Mr Naroei’s behaviour and lack of understanding of design processes. It’s Mr Naroei who didn’t pay enough attention to his duties arising from our agreement and was not involved enough to clearly communicate his vision.
As a graphic designer, I didn’t receive sufficient information on Mr Naroei’s expectations nor any guidelines as to the style preferred by him. When employing me, Mr Naroei was familiar with my portfolio and well aware of my style, thus, he must have known what could have been expected from my work.
Please remember that I decided to forget about additional remuneration for extra projects prepared for Mr Naroei. For just a moment, I was convinced that Mr Naroei might simply have poor experience in cooperation with graphic designers and might have misunderstood our arrangements. Unfortunately, Mr Naroei turned out to be more than rude. He insulted and threatened me, saying that he would destroy my reputation online, the example of which is this post.
I interpret his post on this website as revenge resulting from his failure to understand the situation and our cooperation conditions, proposed by me and accepted by Mr Naroei, as well as revenge for the rejection of his complaint and his request for reimbursement of advance payment by Pay Pal.
I, hereby, announce that this is my last post regarding this case and that I do not intend to waste any more time nor money on disputes with Mr Naroei.
Kind Regards,
Åukasz Kowalik
