I first noticed two unauthorized transactions of $1.00 by UMG BUYE and UMG MYAD debited from my checking account in March 2008. I noticed that in May 2008 two more unauthorized debits of $19.95 by the same company for the same amounts were automatically debited from my account. Over the next eight months $19.95 was deducted from my account, once in the begining of the month and once at the end of the month. It wasn't until the charges started showing up on the same day for the same amounts that I started to question them. I did not recall setting up any automatic deductions with any companies within that time frame which caused me concern. I contacted my bank to start a fraud investigation and had my debit/credit card canceled. I also contacted UMG BUYE and UMG MYAD to find out what the company was. They told me that they were a company that gives discounts on airfare and other things. I told them they had no right charging my credit card for something I did not sign up for, the woman I was speaking to didn't have much to say. When I told her I wanted my money back she told me she was going to credit my account $79.00. This company stole $361.10 from me and they wanted to give me back $79.00. I imediately asked to speak to a supervisor. After being on hold for ten minutes I was informed that $361.10 would be credited to my account within the next 3-5 business days.

don't buy over the phone

AUTHOR: Apologetic - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 02, 2010

I work for a company in Scarborough Maine that sells different health products. Our main job though is to get people to take these clubs. i.e Buyers edge and My Advisor (UMG) Our sales in these two clubs are more important than our products themselves. Which should tell you something right there. We are taught that we have to find a way to get people to take these clubs in any way we can. Its where a large portion of our commision comes from. So you can imagine all the shady ways people get these clubs added to your order. Half of the time people will read what its about so fast you don't know what was said. Then when you say "what?" You're told, "oh, its just a free gift for you. So check it out...OK? once you say ok, you're getting charged. I hate working for this company and hate the fact that we scam people looking for help every day. I appologize to anyone I did it to. i hope that this company is audited. I know that we have to be crossing some pretty grey lines. I'm sure some employees are just out an out breaking the law. I hope that anyone doing this gets caught. Please, if you're buying something online or over the phone, make sure you know the company before you buy from them.
