All negative reports you have read about this guy and his business are 100% true! I thought my terribly negative experience was a unique situtation until finding identical reviews on every review site and forum available. After receiving damaged headlights I attempted to having them refunded which was quickly shot down because my 30 days was up. This is a common tactic of theirs.

After hours of emails and harrassment from the owner, Matt , I finally sent them back for an exchange. Instead of an exchange I received my headlights back with a ridiculous amount of glue repairing the broken halo. Yes, glue. The glue had separated causing the halo to separate from the headlight 3 more times. 2 of those times I had sent them back and demanded they be replaced and the adjusters be fixed because the beams are pointed down and won't adjust.

Instead they have just continued to reglue them and have yet to fix the adjusters. The purchase was on Nov 2013 and it is now Nov 2014 and I have never had my lights for more than 6 weeks. They keep them for months at a time and tell me each time it's because their orders are backed up and they fired everyone and hired all new staff.

I have fought non stop with matt, who has no problems calling you names and blaming you (also blamed UPS and my installer, for an internal issue).

To date I spent $800 on the headlights and over $500 on re-installing and removing the headlights for what will now be my 4th time. I have also paid the shipping out of pocket.

He also told me he was recording our conversations even though I told him he did not have permission. After sending him an excerpt of the law stating that his actions were illegal he apologized through email and acknowledged that he had done so.

Tim has been as helpful as he could but that can only go so far with a guy like matt running the show. Do your research on this guy. I wish I did! You are insane to make a purchase from him , he is a lying theif and has been exposed many times before me

umnitza is a joke

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, March 18, 2015

I'm not going to waste any more time on this but I first must say that everything stated in his rebuttal is either not true or completely fabricated. It doesn't take more than 5 minutes of research to see that this guy (Matt the owner) spends half his day fighting unhappy customers on forums and review sites. In fact he is banned from multiple forums already. The funniest part about this is when I first made these reviews Umnitza called me and offered to fix the lights and send me a prepaid return label as long as I removed my negative reviews. I declined so they never sent me the return labels. Buy at your own risk and if you do be prepared to hear nothing but excuses when your product fails, which it will because the quality is terrible. His favorite excuses are: sorry we just fired everyone and have a brand new staff, the product is on backorder, it must have been damaged during shipping and the cold weather affects the product. After they screw you over be sure to contact the attorney General and leave plenty of reviews so others do not continue to get screwed by this sad excuse of a company. And I am expecting to receive a nasty email froasUmnitza as soon as I post this as I have for every other review iv posted.

#1 UPDATE Employee

No reasonable remedy could be reached

AUTHOR: Umnitza Representative - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 18, 2015

This is simply a case where no reasonable remedy would have placated the customer.

Umnitza did not deny a replacement. We offered not once but many times to pay for shipping both ways to repair anything. In this case, the customer was very angry, belligerent, abusive, and swore repeatedly.

Timeline:

1) Customer ordered $600 headlights and claimed something went wrong with them after a few months, then he sent them back. We fixed them, sent them them back, fully working and tested.

2) Customer then claimed that suddenly, even after we tested them, that those headlights stopped working and customer again voiced dissatisfaction. In order to make this customer happy, we requested the old lights be sent back - which were then installed without problems on another car and we shipped him a newly built set - once again, tested and working.

3) Customer said he continued to have an issue with a light, and once again sent it back, we fixed it, it was working fine. This time, with the new procedures we follow in 2014 (see below) the customer approved it, and we sent it yet again.

4) Once the customer received the lights, he called in and became belligerent, abusive, insulting, and downright impossible to deal with even after we said we'd pay to have the lights shipped back to examine them despite the customer approving them already (See #3)

5) Customer claims to have spent more money than the original order price. Installation prices on a DIY product with multiple install guides are never covered and are the responsibility of the customer.

There is no remedy for this customer that we can offer at this time given the product has been replaced and has been used nearly 18 months in total from the purchase date.

Introduction:

We officially started in business in 2001, but formally started selling through our web site as early as 2002.  When we first started, our goal was to provide products with reduced overhead costs.  We started simply: we provided a $200 cost reduction on angel eyes kits that were selling at the time for over $375.  It didn’t take long for us to reduce prices for other products in the early 2000s like ZKW E36 Euro headlights, Xenon Kits, E46 Headlights, E39 Headlights, etc.

We were among the very first companies to ever sell HID/Xenon kits pre-configured inside headlights. We led the way towards fully integrated ready to install headlights with angel eyes and xenons. We were also at the forefront of angel eyes innovation from lowly fiber optics, to neon, to CCFL, to LED, to the latest LED (like COB etc.). Ironically, our efforts helped pave for more LED innovation in general.  We don’t take credit for the LED technology, but we do take credit for implementing it in easy to use ways for BMWs and other applications/models.

Challenges

Along the way, through slowly expanding services, product base, and customer base, we’ve grown slowly.  We all didn’t want to be a “flash in the pan”  Too many businesses that have started at the time we did have either gone away or been bought out and “shelled”  We have always felt that the best thing we can do not only for ourselves but also for our customers is to stay in business.

Most of our issues can be boiled down to 2 factors: communication and process.  Sometimes information didn’t get to the customer quickly or accurately enough, and sometimes, we simply didn’t have the manpower to handle all the issues within a reasonably expected timeframe. However, where we wrong, we’ve taken responsibility, whether it’s privately or publicly.  Additionally, on the process side, some parts were faulty, unavailable, or simply took too long to receive, causing aggravation for our customers.

Moving forward:

Throughout this process, we’ve built up a team of vendors, resellers, employees, and suppliers.   Our focus has always been and will always be to treat everyone exactly how we want to be treated and be logical and ethical in that treatment.   We acknowledge that some people don’t believe that, we further acknowledge that some people believe the exact opposite. But we are 100% committed now as ever to providing you the kind of experience for your products that you would get from a local friend’s shop.

We have setup mutually beneficial terms and conditions so that the customers are aware of many issues prior to purchase.  Beginning in 2014, Umnitza has begun sending photos to customer's custom built product for review and approval. We've improved our quality of materials used to build products and are actively engaged with our customers to insure the most reasonable and best possible results.

We continue to import, develop, resell, and distribute products that we personally would like on our own cars, that we personally test on our own cars, and that we can personally recommend to others.  As we continue to grow our product, customer, and constituent base, we openly welcome you to join us in the journey.
