On 03-22-17, I visited a company called Underpriced Furniture, and I tried out a complete bed and base (the base is similar to a boxspring). The salesman gave me his pitch, and he made it sound like a good deal, so I bought the set.

When I was in the showroom, I only laid on the bed for about 5 minutes, so that wasn’t enough time to know how uncomfortable it would be for me when I had it at home. The trick the salesman used was to raise the bed at the head and the foot, which relieved the pain in my lower back, so I thought the bed would solve my back problems.

After a few days of using the bed, I discovered that the mattress is extremely hard and uncomfortable to sleep on, and it is impossible to get a good night’s sleep on it, when I am laying on it while it is flat.

Also, the base that lifts the mattress at the head is already starting to malfunction, only after a few days of having it. When I use the remote to lower the bed, it won’t go all the way down, and I have to push it down with my hand.

When I go to bed, and when I raise the head of the bed, it causes pain in my middle back and my neck, and I have to eventually lay the bed down flat, or I will be in constant pain all night. However, as I mentioned earlier, when I lay the bed flat, it is so uncomfortable to try to sleep on it that I am miserable most of the night! Therefore, for me, this bed is a nightmare!

When I was talking to the salesperson, he said if I don’t like the bed, I could bring it back. However, I was surprised when I later found out that the company charges me a 25% restocking fee to return merchandise, and I also found out that they won’t take the mattress back at all. None of the employees told me these things when I was there. This was very deceitful of them!

Therefore, it’s my opinion that this company sells very poor quality merchandise, and then they will keep a lot of the money you paid when you try to get a refund. They are definitely trying to cheat me!

The customer service there is terrible! I had to call three people at the company, before a manager finally called me back. The first two employees lied to me when they said they would have someone call me back. The third person I spoke to finally had the manager call me back.

This managers’ name was Ashley, and she had a nasty attitude towards me! She didn’t care about my situation at all, and at one point, she gave me the silent treatment. She was very rude, and I don’t know why the company would have someone like her working there. Also, she refused to let me speak to her supervisor. She refused to give me the owner’s name, as well.

Ashley said the company would give me a store credit for the mattress, but I told her I don’t want to exchange one piece of junk for another! As I said, the quality of their merchandise is terrible, so even if they were to deliver a replacement mattress, it would not be any good, either, and then the company would keep charging me another $99, every time they delivered another mattress. I’m trying to return their new mattress to them, but they have refused to take it.

The company is planning to pick up the base from me on 03-31-17, but they will charge me another $99 to pick it up. As I said, this base is already defective, but nevertheless, they will still charge me the $99, and they don’t care! They are trying to get as much money from me as they can! These are the kind of people I’m dealing with!

The reason I am asking for $1069.20, is Ashley said the company will refund me $522.45 of the $1591.65 I originally paid, so I am just trying to recover the difference.

In summary, this company sold me some very poor quality merchandise, which wasn’t as good as they tried to claim, and they are trying to keep most of the money I paid. As I mentioned, the base has already started to malfunction, but the company still has the nerve to charge me $99 to come and pick it up. It’s not my fault that they sold me defective merchandise! It’s also not my fault that they sold me a cheap quality mattress, that actually causes pain for me when I sleep on it!

These are some of the worst people I have ever dealt with! I went to the Better Business Bureau’s website, and I see that this company has a lot of complaints against them. I regret that I ever did business with these people!
