Unified Doers Management Group, LLC AKA UD Management Group, LLC Magazine RipOff - NO 3rd CHANCE - we werre pitched a boo-h*o story from a well spoken youth, needing a 2nd chance, coming from 'the ghetto' - no mags recieved, no one answers calls, they won't get a 3rd chance. Washington DC

My kids and I were approached by a well spoken african american youth, (here in Pittsburgh, PA) asking us to buy a magazine subscription.  He explained he was working towards a brighter future, needed a 2nd chance, came from the 'ghetto' and UD Managment Group, LLC (based out of Washington, DC) was helping him achieve this '2nd chance'.  He went on and on about this company supporting him in his efforts to change his life and the life of his child.  This youth really DID speak quite well and was very convincing, telling a sad tale of his life and his aspirations of hope for the future. 

I responded 'no thank you', becasue from a quick glance the magazines were overpriced and there really wasn't anything that jumped out as topics we'd read (and the whole deal felt hinky, you could barely read the only ID he had from this company and his marketing material ammounted to very well worn, copied sheets sheets of paper listing magazines and at one point I noticed the numbers on those sheets didn't didn't match another form he cross referenced).  My kids were 100% supportive of helping this youth out, pulled me aside and pushed me to buy a subscription, saying how lucky they were to NOT have grown up in the ghetto, blah, blah, blah, told me I was jaded, suspicious and old.  Reluctantly, I agreed, but only if they split the subscription cost (from their allowances money).

120 days came and went, but no magazines came, I had them both call the customer service number which is never answered and you are unable to leave messages at.  I had them both write letters to the address given on the receipt and most recently (11/2013) we faxed (UD Management Group) a letter with a copy of the receipt asking informing them of non-delivery and requesting a refund.  (Our receipt did state 'If you do not recieve delivery within 120 days, please notify UD Managment Group, LLC.  You are entitaled to delivery or a refund.')

At this point I hope this company does the right thing and refunds their money, but given the number of complaints here and with the BBB rating that this Company has of an 'F', I doubt it.  On a bright note it may have been an expensive magazine subscription but cheap lesson in life that will save the kids money later, at least I hope it makes them think.
