This company apparently runs a confidence scam attracting people who cannot easily obtain a personal loan, by informing the dupe that they have qualified for a loan [minimum of $5000.00] to be paid back over a 2 year period at a reasonable interest rate. The only issue that comes up at the end is that you have to make an advance payment to them prior to the funds being disbursed.
In October, 2005, I found their website online and filled out their online application. I should've been suspicious when they didn't contact me back as quickly as they claimed [24 hours], but when they called me back about this, it seemed like a Godsend. My wife and I had had to move to an extended-stay motel because we could no longer afford to live where we had been [commuting expenses had become prohibitive], and this would have let us have the money to move into an apartment/condo vice continuing to live in the extended-stay motel. I
n the middle of November, I called them and told them that I had been able to raise $600.00, and asked them if that would be sufficient; a Mr. Marcus Riley informed me that it would, and gave me the name to wire it to via Western Union. I wired them the money [to the attention of a Mr. Martin Smith in Ontario], and even faxed them the copy of the Western Union receipt as he stated that I would also be reimbursed the cost of the Western Union charges.
After having wired the money, Mr. Murphy stated that I would be receiving the deposit into my account in 24-48 hours; as of 30 November 2005 no deposit has been made, and attempts to call the 800 number result in a phone message stating: "Thank you, goodbye" and the telephone hanging up.
