Union 76 Gas Station - Incorrect Weights, Overcharged Gas Charged me over 15 gallons of gas , my tank only holds 13.2 per mfg La Habra California
*Consumer Comment: CA Department of Weights & Measures
*Consumer Suggestion: Contact Weights and Measures.
*Consumer Comment: What type of vehicle?
I was running low, almost empty, stopped at gas station and was filling up. I noticed that it was high amount and checked, it showed my tank took over 15 gallons.
I have owned my car for almost 4 years and have never filled up more than close to 13 gallons.
I checked the manufacturer specifications for my car and it only has a 13.2 gallon tank.
I will be contacting the gas station and will update this report.

Irene, you should go back to the gas station and check the pump to see if there is a label from the CA Department of Weights & Measures; they are responsible for auditing the pumps at stations throughout California. If they do, check the last date of measure. If it's recent, you may have no case, as well as a tank that holds more than 13.2 gallons of gas. If it's been a while, I would contact the Department and inform them of what your experience was. It will at least get the out to do the measure (which BTW - reuqires the gas station to close and no customers can buy gas while they're there performing the measure). Best of luck to you.

They need to investigate the station's pumps.
