Union Financial Securities & Trust is sending fraudulent sweepstakes winnings in the amount of $125,000. A letter comes in the mail with no return address and a large check(mine was $4,875.00). When you call the number listed in the letter its seems ligit, and even the bank, Centra Bank, Inc., is real. But, if you call Centra Bank, Inc., they will let you know that it is a scam, and the check is fraudulent. Union Financial Securities & Trust will ask you to send them their tax portion of $2,875.00 out of the $4,875.00 check, and then they will send you a check for the remaining amount of the $125,000, UPS. It sounds good because you will still have $2,000.00 left out of this first check. I think the sole purpose for this is to get you to deposit the check(which your bank puts a 5 day hold on), Western Union or Money Gram Union Financial Securities & Trust their tax portion(which is $2,875.00), and wait for your final winnings to come in the mail. Most people will go ahead and send the $2,875.00 out of their personal account and by the time you find out the $4,785.00 check is a fraud, they have your money and you are out $2,875.00. When I called the number on the letter(1-647-836-0847), Union Financial Securities & Trust said to send the Western Union or Money Gram to Linda Ray, 44 West Road, Unit 4A, Ottawa Canada M9M2T2. I got to give it to them, it's a good way to gain $2,875.00 from unsuspecting people who actually fall for it. I happened to check it out with my bank before depositing the $4,875.00 check.
